I wondered where you went. I was looking forward to having someone else at the blunt end to race with. I finished my first race last night without any serious incidents.

 

What are you complaining about, you still made 1 point without even showing up

 

I too was looking forward our race But I wasn't very good last night. I was overdriving like hell, just couldn't get a way to do a lap properly...

Ok it's been a few days, hope everybody is enjoying the video and the holiday weekend

Great race this past week. Still really embarrassed about my performance. I had a good finish but 2 sketchy moves that I'm not proud of. TOTALLY missed my braking marker at the start - that could've been bad. Thankfully Justin has good situational awareness and saw my dumb *** coming!

Had a KILLER battle going with Tony for several laps... it was awesome, I was sweating. I feel comfortable at VIR so I was pushing harder than I normally do (dammit I really wanted a win!) and left less margin on the table. He seemed faster than me through Oak Tree but I was faster than him in rollercoaster so I was trying to stay tight as we crested the hill - and I stayed too tight. Ran out of room, drifted right, then ran out of pavement... and tagged him. DAMMIT. For several laps prior I KNEW I was braking later going into there. Then brain farted and didn't expect him to brake earlier than me when I was behind him? *sigh*

Saving grace is Tony still finished 3rd, so at least I didn't totally hose him. Great running Tony.

I ordered that ClubSport V2 wheel from the guys in Canada. They called back. Turns out all their pricing is in CAD so it really only worked out to be about $50 over MSRP for the V2, and I'll have it in 3-4 days... vs waiting for the next ship date from Fanatec.

Chris - your guy got back to me, and best he could do was offer up an invite code. But those with invite codes still have to wait until March 31st for a ship date.

Seems like, for ALL the chicanes, you have to have a lot of patience. You can't attack the entry. Slow up a bunch, thread it in, then power down early to exit.

 

Yes Jim that is where you were walking away from me, on the one chicane on the front straight.
The race will be interesting on Wed. maybe I should make my Brake, Brake, Brake in bright neon :-)

Yeah, I know but there are so many of them I keep getting lost and either missing my braking point or braking way too early. Just need to do more laps but I still don't think I'll like this track.

 

Was great to be back on track with you guys last night after nearly a year away. Looking forward to the race and hoping I don't take anyone out
