Rennlist iRacing thread
I didn't get on until 4:30 my time so 5:30 your time so I just assumed I missed you. I which there was a way to see who is an iRacing hosted session like you can for the hosted sessions.
Going to try your setup tomorrow.

My practice times at laguna are in the mid 1:24s with 'constant' weather. I think those laps were pretty good, but of course with .5s room to improve. I imagine 1:24 to 1:25 will be the faster group of us in qualifying. We'll have racers all the way from 1:24s to 1:30+s in the race depending on weather. Those who don't crash or spin will end up on the podium.
Sorry if this has been debated before. As of 2015 - is iRacing still one of the best for realism on practice? Can you improve your skills with just a computer monitor/flat screen or do you really need 3 panels (sideviews) to get the most out of the system? Would love to buy one of those $50K systems but the wife may have a little issue with it. I also find it interesting there are no places that you can go and rent a few hours on one of the high end systems. Sounds like a business opportunity as many people are getting into DE's, etc. Especially in Dallas. Maybe not enough profit??
I think iRacing still is the best and is putting distance on the other sims. You won't find a better group of guys to come racing with than our group. Our rules are only to weed out people who are not respectful and everyone has been trying pretty hard to adhere to the golden rule.
A single flat screen is not ideal, but will get you through to the new year when you can pick up a VR device. I have VR and triple; I prefer the triple for practical reasons and for the higher resolution, but NOTHING beats VR for immersion. It really is revolutionary. Just hold off for the next wave of consumer models coming in the new year.
There are some business that do sim training around the continent like CXC and Robertshaw racing in Calgary. I don't know if they are profitable or not, but they do have cool gear.
Also- did everyone get my email through the league distribution?

I got mine. I'll be there next week. Just got headphones so I can warn people when I'm about to loose it and slide through a corner. Should make it more interesting. Adding a radio to my race car did. Now I better go turn some laps before then. I haven't driven the Ruf since last year.
Anybody up for a practice session tomorrow night. I turned some laps today and I'm fairly consistent but consistently slow. My best time is a 1:26.5 but I'm mostly in the low 27s to high 26s. I'd like to try out someone else's setup.
