Haha, I had nowhere to go!! Poor guy was sitting parked in front of me
Thanks for the fun everyone... I need to work on my iracing skills. And I couldn't hear anyone talking and I can't reply so if anyone happened to yell at me, I totally missed it!

That was a fun little race. I had a massive start. No-one around me launched properly so I rocketed up 5 spots before T1 and then went wide around the mayhem that you guys were playing in. And they say you can't win a race in turn 1! Edmund and I were having some fun until he dropped it leaving me all alone.
You're plenty fast, just need to sort out the audio and some of the iracing specific stuff.
i think we are going to have a good race with our group. Doing an actual sub 2:00 lap around Sebring in real life would be outrageous. It wasn't that long ago that cup cars were blowing up the interwebs when they got under 2:10!
Based on the winter test, I think the GTD cars will be in the low 2:03's for qualy... just depends on how much the Audi's and Ferrari's are willing to show. The RUF car in iracing has pretty similar gearing to the GT America, just slightly taller 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. The biggest difference is you can brake an easy 100-200ft deeper in iracing and do it without locking up a wheel. Or if you do lock up a wheel it doesn't seem to flat spot.
Missed it again. Just as I was heading down my daughter remembered she had a project due today. I was helping her with that until almost midnight. I would have been fun on a track I know well. I did get the rig set up so I'm ready for the next one.
I don't think they've modeled flat-spotting either. They should IMO.
I couldn't find my way out of the 2's but came close with a 2:00.048. That extended wall along the pits has me all screwed up - I feel like I "guess" every time I go to turn in there. My old reference point (the cone that was offset) is gone.
I'll have to put in a bunch more practice time to get the feel.
I think I was just off the screen to the left. I started on pole, had a soft start, P2 had an even worse start which let Tony (P3 start) get around both of us. I knew he was to my right so I kept left to make sure we had room... but apparently I didn't stay far enough left. That combined with just not being used to being on the left down the straight, I wasn't 100% sure where to turn... and Tony came in hard from the far right to apex - right where I was. That set off a chain reaction I think and took out most of the field.

Having a clutch pedal is a huge advantage with the RUF in standing-start races. Slip the bejeezus out of it.
