I think if you get a stable setup (the default RUF Race setup actually isnt bad at VIR), and just follow people around you'll find a second. There are at least 3 turns that by themselves can cost you 3 seconds or more.

Just don't crash and you will do well. If you run 1:52s every lap, you'll probably end up finishing well. From what I've seen in practice and my own experience I feel like there will be a lot of people dumping it in Left hook, snake, south bend, roller coaster and hog pen.
One trick to save your bacon here is to remember where the track goes so when the person in front of you goes off and slides across the grass back onto the track, you aren't there to get collected.

Attrition plays a big role in our series it seems. Be defensive and aim to just finish and you'll be good to go IMO

Nordschleife Master
I took 2 days off because I spent so much time over the weekend on it. Got my bittkickers today and hope to get them hooked up in time for the race.
Sounds like a smaller field already.

Ed, what are your thoughts on how your real-life Cup compares to the iRacing car? I'll be co-driving an 04 GT3 Cup in the upcoming PCA Club Race at COTA, wondering how much of my knowledge of the iRacing car will transfer. I know the differences on paper, curious to know about the difference in "feel" so to speak

COTA should be out shortly. Learning the track intimately will probably be the biggest advantage you can get. Let's set up a bunch of practices with the C-spec before you go and then you can report back on how things compare. The driving part is likely to be different, but the strategy and race craft practice will be good.

Fingers are crossed that COTA is done in time. They're currently saying late April...PCA weekend is May 2-4. It's going to be close.
It would also be cool to make a side-by-side on-board video of an iRacing lap and a real-life lap...see how they compare.

Good win Tom; you deserved it last week. I took a gamble with lapped traffic because you were so close and I should have waited. I was trying to get a car between us before Oak Tree. My second spin was pure red mist and a hail mary lap after the white flag.
