Wow our setups really cover the spectrum. Mine is a regular PC desk with just 3 monitors not really aligned correctly and a wheelstand so the monitors are too far away and too high. Next month I should be able to fix part of that problem.

Makes perfect sense now. Thanks for explaining.

I thought the same thing looking at these different setups. The 5lb weight on loxner's setup is serious business!
Mine is far from "normal" as my sim rig is currently in my home theater using the 120" screen until I get an Oculus Rift. I'll post a pic later tonight just to add to the variety.

One critique of the rig
As setup the screens may be to high

They say to set it so ur eye line is at the top third?
Or something
If have to look it up

That way ur on screen dash is right behind the wheel

Awesome rig

Interesting, I have them lined up now my eye line is in the middle, but wanted to bring them close to the wheel, that said I think my wheel is probably set an inch or so low too.

Yes when I was running triple monitors that's how I had mine set. The "virtual" steering wheel aligned perfectly with my actual wheel. That way I knew I had the height, etc. set correctly.

Justin's pic captured this nicely where his physical wheel covered his virtual wheel.

You talking about post #3545? there it looks like the dash is a lot lower.
In mine the steering wheel does pretty closely line up you just don't see the dash. That is why I really rely on iRace Dash for shift lights, etc.
But being custom I can play with it, as the monitor mounts does all come off and I could cut an inch or so before I would have to move the thumb screws that secure it.

Now why does the robotic arm one just scare me too much, oh when I took a tour of a John Deere plant in school one of the shop guys told me that once in a while they go wacky. They had one that would pick up a 150 lbs fly wheel on the edge and swing it around for the next machining step and it went crazy and was throwing them like frisbees, no your turn to go fix the robot :-)

I'm going to put one up for 8 EST at VIR. It's been a crazy week and I may not be up at 10. Yes, I'm getting old!

I haven't been on the track before so I need all the practice I can get!

I am diagnosed with Man-Cold, so I won't be on tonight. I may be on tomorrow if I don't die.

In the meantime, here's a vid of one of my better laps around VIR:
