Burning Brakes
I really enjoy hopping in random hosted rooms and running into several others from here. Makes it a lot more fun and I think we all benefit as we are on the pointier end of the stick in public rooms.

Well maybe some of you are at the pointy end, I'm kind of in the middle :-)
So can I do a poll, how many of you are left foot braking? I did it in my karting days (years ago, and many seconds lighter :-) ) But not in my real car or iRacing right now.
Just trying to find out where that last second or so is :-)
I have watched some of you and clearly some of you are left foot braking by watching the brake lights.

I LFB exclusively in iRacing. I've tried and I'm much faster doing it. Real cars, despite my time karting, I rarely LFB and for autocross I never do anymore.

I left foot brake, that ability is helping now that I'm using the extreme left pedal for breaking. I've always used left foot braking since I started with a wheel/pedals on the xbox, just transfered that to iracing.
New load cell didn't repair my brakes, now fanatec is sending me a new PCB. Fingers crossed....

I LFB in iRacing on cars that have an automated manual gearbox (like the Track and Cup). Cars that require a clutch pedal, I will use LFB in some places (when a shift is not required) to tighten the nose, etc. I'll note that I've switched back and forth from LFB to RFB and within a couple laps I'm running similar lap times using RFB. I usually LFB just to give my left foot something to do in cars with the automated boxes.
I have not LFB'd on a race track in my real car, but I have started experimenting with it on an autocross course.

I LFB even on those. I just use auto-blip and deal with the harsh upshifts. I guess for me the motivation is different since I don't track anymore I only care about autox so shifting isn't as much my focus anymore.

Drifting
I'm exclusively a LFB in iracing. It's the only way to be fast IMHO. I pretty much only drive cars with sequential transmissions in the sim, so it's never a hindrance. IMHO That's the way to drive a sequential in real life too. All formula 1 car drivers LFB and some times you hear the engineers telling them to use less overlap of the pedals. In real life with a clutch pedal and a syncromesh gearbox, I never left foot brake if I need to downshift but I obviously do heel-toe. If I had a PDK car I'd never right foot brake, but I'd have to disable the throttle cut from the brakes.

The only real disadvantage IMO of RFB is coming off the gas and onto the brakes smoothly and the opposite as to not upset the car in that longitudinal change. You can achieve this RFBing, its just much harder especially lap after lap and during the unexpected.

I also use exclusively LFB in iRacing...I've never even tried RFB actually. My ghetto wheel/pedal setup doesn't have an H-pattern or clutch, so it's really a no-brainer for me. Autocrossing, I also almost exclusively LFB since shifting is rarely required.
In the Spec Boxster though, I use RFB exclusively. Don't think there are too many people who road race an H-pattern car and do LHB.
