A bit of a low turnout, but it's a start. Next week is Laguna Seca.

Just downloaded NJMP as a tech track! Only T-bolt, with choices for chicane(s)

I made practice and qual a bit longer this time so there should be a bit more time to get in. Same cars as last time, same weight penalty on the MP4.

Hey Justin,

I can't make it this week, but I'm planning on trying to keep my Wednesday nights free so I can join you all.

What kinda lap times are you running. I'm trying the Ford but am only able to run consistently in the 1:27's with race fuel.
Also how do I add the weight to the MP4? I noticed last week that the setup I was honing went right out the window when I joined the session because of the added weight. That's why the car was pushing so much.

Yep, that's right. Practice starts at the same time 5:30 mountain time (7:30 Eastern). I made it a timed race of 25 minutes instead of number of laps so that gave us a bit more time for practice and qualy. Password is still: spyder

To add weight in a test session, it's in the garage settings at the very top right of the garage window. I haven't turned any laps at Laguna yet, so I don't know what kind of laps time to expect. The 110kg (240lb) weight penalty seemed to work pretty well for LRP and Road Atlanta, so we will stick with it for a while. If it becomes obvious that it's too much or too little weight, we can change it. I'll try the McLaren this week.

And BIG thanks to Kevin and iracing for sponsoring our races! Hope you can join us and bring your friends.

I can do about a 1:24.8 in either car with qualifying fuel under similar conditions. I think the mp4-12c is harder to drive and easier to setup than the Ford GT. A good Ford setup is really consistent and stable, but there are a lot more settings to fiddle with. Overall though, in my hands again with the weight penalty the cars are very similar in pace. Who knows what the weather will be and how that will change the balance.

The best I have run is a 1:25.3 in the Ford, but that was with 14 gal of fuel. The Ford has been a new monster for me. It is definitely not as forgiving as the MP4. Consistency is the key, and I've had to brake earlier to get the car to turn in.
Maybe this week I can keep it on the track a bit longer
