2021 Cayenne in for service today - we'll see if the software fix addresses the issue - fingers crossed.

Mine is in as well with Porsche Irvine. Been in about a week oil change, check engine and couple of other things. Showed them the post here and they have been digging into it.

my service invoice also references the porsche campaign code E3S3U - it _IS_ a software update for the onboard vehicle charger - and nothing else.
post update - the vehicle charged overnight from 20% to 100% - no CEL so far - although when I picked the vehicle up the CEL was on for a very very very long time - but eventually cleared after getting into the vehicle post service tech applied software update
it took longer to have the dealer run the vehicle through their automated car wash than apply the software update - based on procedures and time - the update is truly trivial in terms of service tech complexity and/or time.
I'll continue to monitor - but so far so good.
I'm optimistic that Porsche has resolved this issue almost exactly a year after it first started occurring on my vehicle - so I think we're good and this is good news for all of us regarding this issue....
however I'm also a bit sad - for anyone willing to pursue it - this tolerable fault with no actual vehicle impact was an automatic "discount" for anyone willing to feign disgust and push Porsche on accommodations and considerations in exchange for not lemoning the vehicle. so we've all lost the ability to force Porsche NA in to accepting negotiated terms on an otherwise excellent vehicle - this CEL is in fact the _ONLY_ problem I've had with more than a year and 14,000 miles…

Taking car in tomorrow for the software update, days after beginning the buyback/discount process with Porsche NA.
If this fixes the issue, then great.
But it's basically the worst outcome. I've dealt with this issue (including the CEL masking a very real onboard charger malfunction that needed a warranty replacement) for almost a year, including about 6 weeks total where the car has been in the service center while I drive a rental.
Now, I've basically hit the exact peak maximizing the aggravation and minimizing the compensation. If Porsche fixes this one month later, I flip this into a new car/cash compensation. Now nothing.

april 25th, 2021 was the first occurence of this issue on my brand new 2021 Cayenne eHybrid - confirmed fix delivered by dealership service on May 7th, 2022 - over a year of diagnosis and solutions development for a "software" fix for this issue - one would think Porsche could do better - I'm serously curious how many Cayenne's they had to buy back as lemons - my dealership said there were several customers local to my area that did not want the car and didn't want to wait for a fix - wow - this little problem cost Porsche a lot of $$$

Heh. Take pride in the fact that you were responsible for many owners getting their discounts while they could. What a saga this was. However, I will hold my breath until I get the fix and I see it gone for good!

I second that. Daveo4porsche led me to get PCNA to compensate for the trouble. So, I am grateful for this forum. My CEL came on in June and was fixed in May, so only 11 months for me.

so far so good - but we'll need longer - prior to the update I went all of Feb. with no CEL - and then had to clear CEL 3 times in the first week of march - so it's erratic - more time is required - the update certainly hasn't made things worse.
