Update on my end: PCNA has officially approved buy back of my vehicle or the option to keep for $25k. Received delivery of my car end of Aug 21, so looking at around 6-7 months end to end of dealing with issues, attempted fixes, and contact with PCNA.
I really like the car otherwise and haven’t decided what to do. I will ask for clarification if they have a fix pending and if the issue is resolved in ‘22s. I wouldn’t mind respec’ing the car if problem is gone in ‘22.

Another update from PCNA:
1. Fix is being worked on. No timeframe. Expect at least 6 more months.
2. Warranty is valid inclusive of CEL issue if you decide to keep.
3. As far as they can tell, the issue is not present in 22+ year models.
Hope this helps. I think I am going to keep based on 1 & 2.

Worrisome story: https://cleantechnica.com/2022/04/04...for-fire-risk/
Do you guys think that Porsche would not make the mistake that Audi and VW have made with their PHEVs?

I went all of march with no CEL - had several in Feb. - and now that we're in April I've had 2 in 5 days - it's random.
All codes are U1022 which is not a big deal and the source of this entire thread.

Update from my Service Mgr. He spoke to the Regional PCNA rep and was told that the issue we are experiencing is going to trigger a recall. That means there are specific regulatory filing requirements, notifications, testing, etc that must be met before the recall can be issued. He had no ETA on how long that would take. So, I think we are in this for the long haul. My car is 1 year old this month and the first CEL happened last June. I am hopeful that my car won't be 2 before we see some action. Love the car, great to drive, just took it to FL and back, but really sucks to give the Valet your 6 figure car and the CEL is on.

Took delivery of my brand new 2022 turbo S E-H last week. Today and 180 miles later, it threw a CEL, don't know what code yet as I don't have a reader but I can guess.
Car drives fine but the CEL is still on after shutting down and restarting. I've been charging with the Porsche supplied kit and just put it on charge so we'll see if its still there tomorrow.
We like the car so will probably just drive it with the CEL on for a bit if there's no immediate fix.

The scanner will pay for itself after the first use. In fact, both my daughters got one in their Christmas stockings so they can read their own CEL’s and call Daddy for a diagnosis. 😀
Based upon daveo4porsche’s recommendation, I upgraded from my $20 scanner to the OBDLink MX201 and am please with it. Now superseded by the MX+.
