Might be a good time to purchase a scanner just to make sure the code is harmless. Besides, with your CEL lit, you can’t know if it throws another one. Your OBD2 port is located under the dash above the dead pedal. A cheap scanner can go for as little as $20 or you may wish to invest in a pricier Bluetooth scanner.
The scanner will pay for itself after the first use. In fact, both my daughters got one in their Christmas stockings so they can read their own CEL’s and call Daddy for a diagnosis. 😀
Based upon daveo4porsche’s recommendation, I upgraded from my $20 scanner to the OBDLink MX201 and am please with it. Now superseded by the MX+.

Is there much drain on your battery?

I only plug mine in when I need to check/clear the CEL code - how often that is depends on the current frequency of the CEL happening or not.

I plug it in only when I use it. It supposedly goes into sleep mode after 10 minutes. Some forums report that it doesn’t always sleep and can drain the battery. With all the Cayenne’s battery issues, I say better safe than sorry.

Today I took my MY21 to the dealer for the 1 year service. I pulled in with my CEL on (has been for 10 months) and the Service Manager came out to say that yesterday he got a call with the "fix." I pick the car up tomorrow, but was told the update worked and cleared the CEL that hasn't been off since June of 2021. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have actually fixed the issue we have all been experiencing. I will keep you updated. Here is to hoping this is behind us all!

what did your service manager do? share the necessary codes/campaign info from the service invoice?
