Yes towards the front of the car. Right about the middle of the front doors.

Yes, it's taken from behind the transfer case.

For anyone interested.... FCP EURO now has the porsche transfer case fluid ~$57/bottle and the case fill/drain plugs. A little more than Ravenol and Sunset, but I'm doing the fluid & plugs change annually, so their lifetime guarantee works well for me.

From their website:

If you watch the camera feed of the returns department, I've seen oil being returned. If in doubt - the phone call is free.. ask.

BTW - I haven't figured out the exact business model - but my WAG is many people find it too big a PITA to ship stuff back to them, especially stuff like oil that has to be double-bagged in heavy plastic bags, so the actual cost to them of those returns may be less than the profit they make by advertising this policy. Maybe they're just nuts, but I'm guessing crazy like a fox is more likely.

Yes oil is included. I do my annual maintenance in October for 2 Porsches and a BMW. I send a box full of cabin/pollen/air/oil filters and plugs for all 3 cars. I also send back 5 Qts of BMW LL-01 oil. Cost to ship all this is ~$40 and they send me a credit for ~$300. In the spring, when I change my CCT transfer case fluid, I'll buy the fluid and 2 plugs from FCP and then spend $10 shipping every year after for replacements. It works for me. The FCP Euro guys have been great for me. BTW, I don't bother with the Mobil1 and Penzoil Euro Porsche oil, since Walmart plus rebates works out to less than $3/Qt.

I have a 14 CD and the transfer case in Diesels is different spec than the gas varieties based on the pictures provided here, in addition to the research done. The fluid spec also seems to be different for diesels. What did you use for yours? I'm considering doing this change soon but want to make sure i've got the right fluids first

thanks

Not for the transfer case, right? That should work for the diffs, but the transfer case should be different...

I'm trying to figure this out as well... According to AllData, the "torsen" transfer case, which is the one the Diesel has, uses a oil referenced as "BOT850", while the other transfer case calls for "TF0870".. It looks like most folks in this thread are using some equivalent of the TF-0870 oil such as the Ravenol, which makes me think the oil for the Diesel has to be different.

EDIT: Appears to be this part number 958 341 536 00

yes, the castrol is for the TC.

look up the part number you posted on google, and you'll see it crosses to the castrol product

I questioned this because just the name itself is too broad. There are many products with the same general name, so I didn't want to add to any confusion and instead wanted to know exactly what needed to be used.

Googing that name gets you something like this (which is wrong):

And this is the correct one:

I'd read in this thread, or maybe another, where someone had put the wrong fluid in, and ran it for some time before realizing it, and having to change it out again, so just making sure I'm clear as possible if I'm going to share information with the community.
