Nope. I had base cayennes as service loaners. Base car needs high rpm to generate some torque

Well that was pretty enlightening. If I'm interpreting this correctly a lot of people are (rightfully) upset that their post-fix diesels are not as good as they were pre-fix, but in the big scheme of things we're talking about closer to a -10% drivability hit than a -50% drivability hit?

If I'd wanted a gasser, I'd have got a gasser.

Heck, I was kinda PO’d after my 2014 CD got the initial fix. It was my only Pcar at the time and it was so much slower off the line after the fix. When the Porsche CPO warranty ran out I sold it and bought a 2017 S eHybrid. Well I’m back to a Diesel, a 2015 w/ a better option package than my 2014 and couldn’t be happier. So no chance I’d swap out my CD for a base. Zero.

I mean, I just bought mine this past summer so I have no idea how they drove pre-fix. I wish it was a bit more linear in building power, and I wish it held gears a hair longer instead of panic-upshifting to eighth as often as possible, but it's overall a very, very good vehicle.

If I didn't pick a diesel, I was going full-stupid and looking at a GTS, ideally in Peridot Green. It would be relatively awful as a tow vehicle because you rev it to the moon to make power/torque but it'd be a different kind of fun vs. the diesel. The base VR6 is... fine. But if I picked that drivetrain, I'd just get a Touareg. The chassis is good enough that it deserves something more IMO.

No one outside of Porsche/VAG is going to have something like that.

So my CD has a pretty bad oil leak. Called my local dealer who serviced the vehicle since new. Told me that all oil leaks are covered by the extended emissions warranty. Went in for diagnosing and was found the front main seal was leaking and now the service advisor is saying Porsche corporate has excluded this part from the extended warranty for some unknown reason. He said the rear seal and timing cover gasket are covered but not this. What a load of $hit!!!

I called PCNA and complained and sent pics to them by email of oil leaking all over the ground. I told them I would be happy to share the pics with the EPA proving they were not meeting their obligations set out in the court settlement.

Our 2014 diesel has been in the shop for oil leak. The engine was taken out to replace multiple seals p, including rear main seal, and being covered by extended power train diesel warranty. Out of 3 advisors, had to argue with one that flat out wouldn't even look at the warranty paperwork, which says lock block is covered. the down side is that it has been in the shop for 3 months, due to lack of technicians and slow parts shipments, etc.

I am sure Porsche will be happy when all these diesels are off warranty, but hey you cheat the system and get caught, you pay the price. Messing with your customer base by trying to deny coverage on vehicles that was court ordered is not a good move!

Is it the rear MAIN seal? Or the rear cam cover seals?
