Additionally, the engine long block warranty shall cover the engine sub-assembly that consists of the assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder head, camshaft, and valve train.
If the block is leaking oil, I suspect it's covered.
An update about my wife's CD. I spoke with the local Porsche dealer, and they have told me that any & all oil leaks are covered under the diesel warranty extension. It is at the dealer now having the repairs made. In our case, they just made the decision to fully reseal the motor, so every seal is being replaced. I was over there today and it is really in a million pieces.
I must say that I am very impressed with Porsche for this level of service for a car of this age (2013 w/ 90k miles). Although this should be the expectation, it is nice to see that it has gone so easily.
Congratulations. This is how customers should be supported. I have experienced similar excellent support from VW on another vehicles.
Mercedes is a completely different, and much worse, story. There are few, if any, stories on mbworld of M-B going above and beyond for customers. The same has been my experience with M-B, lack of support for obvious defects.
it's a huge job. I had it done at about 25k miles.
drop subframe
engine / trans out
disassemble top end of engine
replace the offending gasket and a whole bunch of bolts, parts, seals, etc due to the disassembly
put it all back together
align the car
Following this I had to have the injector seals replace 2x to get them to stop seeping following reassembly. It's good now.
Old thread, but thought it might be helpful for other Cayenne Diesel owners to know it is still being covered under the extended warranty. Just got mine (2013) back from the dealer after a month there (Covid, plus parts back order plus the tech injured himself...so long visit) and this was precisely the repair performed. Three pages of parts, mostly gaskets, seals, etc. replaced and alignment. Best part was the a/c recharge since the freon had to be purged to pull the engine.

You're lucky at 1 month. Mine was 3 months. They did give me a Panamera Gran Turismo 4S as a loaner thought (of course that wouldn't tow my track car). It was the first one the dealer had done. Best news is that it is leaking again.
Its really interesting to hear about other peoples experiences with this common issue. I recently purchased a CD 2011 privately and have since discovered the oil 'weep', not a huge leak or oil consumption but it will inevitably get worse. Unfortunately for me the vehicle is long out of Porsche warranty and the last 2 services has been done by an independent Porsche specialist meaning a good will gesture from them is highly unlikely. Im stuck what to do next my options are:
1. Find a third party warranty that i can put in place now and then claim on when the 'weep' becomes a 'leak' - riddled with complexity as id have to be sure the warranty would cover as much as possible considering so much needs replacing.
2. Keep driving and forget about it for now, keep an eye on it and just save up some cash in the interim for when it does become and issue.
3. Part exchange the car in against something else to move it on - i dont make a habit of this and im aware its not the right thing to do morally but it gets me out of a sticky situation.
Does anyone have any experience of claiming for this job with a 3rd party warranty within the UK/USA? It would be really helpful to further understand the feasibility of my options! After that i can make a game plan.....such a shame as i really like the car.
My '14 CD with emissions fix had oil seepage at 95,000 and oil dripping at 100,000; see the difference in just 5,000 miles. I had discussed with my trusted service manager at local dealership at the 95,000 mi visit to document the concern and this is getting fixed in 2 weeks under warranty, parts being ordered now. I'm the original owner. Will report back with degree of repairs needed.

Leaking "drip" at 100,250 mi "Seep" at 95,000 mi
that leak is one of the worst I have ever seen. I am surprised that it turned to a leak from seepage in just 5K miles
I know it's been said before, but, yes, all oil leaks would be covered under the extended emissions warranty. Both my diesels had the leak and both were fixed under the warranty.
For these type of oil leak, is it only able to tell when you jack up the vehicle, take off the under panel and look at the housing? I think my 2015 CD with only 30k miles is burning quite a bit of oil. It burn through about one notch on the PCM engine oil gauge for every 3000 miles. Or is that normal?

I would imagine you would have to at least drop the belly pan. My leak (pictured above) never dripped a drop in my garage. I was getting it changed every 5k miles at my indy and he took the picture. I never checked the oil gauge, but it never flashed a warning.

You do not have to drop the pan to see the leak. The leak will not hit the ground (because it hits the pan), but you can see the leak without lowering the pan. I can squeeze under the car and see it without jacking the car up. Your results may vary.

Glad it was covered for both of you. Any recommendations on which dealer to take a diesel to for the extended emissions warranty in orange county area?
