When I installed Iq Navi (or any firmware), I have to do a hard reboot of the device (pull power from it). Maybe that is the problem? Also, make sure you didn't unscrew your wifi antenna, or that it isn't set to off.

IQ navi running great on mine.

Good catch, hgupta, I didn't remember the wifi antenna being exposed in the back, but word to the wise:

On many cheaper radio devices (wifi, cellular, telemetry, RC stuff, etc.) such as these if they run for long without an antenna connected it can burn them up! My advice would be to pull it and make sure it is connected so you don't have a hardware problem.

This is all assuming you pulled the unit to get to the USB pigtails. I ran mine out the glovebox, so I would not have to pull the unit to get to them.

I pulled my USB pigtails up into the speaker cavity directly above the stereo. Its easy access and good reception for the 4G modem.

Thank so much for the suggestions, i really appreciate it. Sadly still no WiFi even after a hard reset. Antenna is tight.I am beginning to think it might be a hardware problem.

Seems a bit coincidental as the system was working perfectly before the IQ Navi update.

I thought to ugrade the iq navi too, but will now leave it alone. It had some quirks like the eta time was way off but that fixed itself after three weeks? Found the American Woman voice is the clearest for me. "If its not broken Don't fix it" Sorry about your wifi woes. I get only two bars in my driveway so slow.

You could try one of those cheapie $10 usb wifi dongles if you have one sitting around. That would probably be my next plan of action if I were you.

This applies to any device, when you upgrade firmware it's best to totally reset all stored settings. Don't assume one version is going to be able to reliably use settings from a previous one. Even when you're not migrating from one 'brand' of firmware to another. At least not for niche market devices like this.

That and since these are android-based, do they support USB-connected debugging? That can sometimes help determine what's going on during the boot sequence that might be preventing drivers from starting up properly. Look at the logs or console messages during startup as there's sometimes tell-tale error or warming messages as different devices are started.

^^^Yes, if a dongle doesn't work, then logcat is the next step if you are into going deeper down the Android rabbit hole. :-) I suppose in time one of us could get a backup of our ROM and send it to you. Has anyone installed a recovery tool yet on their Seicane like clockworkmod or twrp?

The usb dongle seems to have worked! THANK YOU nodoors! Another bright spot is that the blue tooth music streaming from my Iphone 6s no longer seems to be breaking up. Perhaps the IQNavi firmware is responsible for that.

Time will tell but for now I am very happy!

Thanks everyone.

Curious as to which wifi dongle actually works with this. Maybe could improve my signal?

Hi all,

Just bought an 07 Cayenne S (with Bose and PCM 2.1) today and was looking at my options around in car entertainment when I came across this thread - what a great read!

Just one question that I couldn't answer with clarity after reading everything... If the MOST adaptor only runs out of a pair of L/R RCA outputs from the head unit, how is fading F/R handled?!?

Cheers,

Tom

We covered it somewhere in there... unfortunately you can not fade front to back with only two channels of output. It also buggers up the factory sub.

Thanks nodoors... I did see that mentioned, but I was hoping it wasn't the case. Suspect I'll go with amp replacement instead.

Cheers,

Tom

Oh, one last question (hopefully) - pretty much everyone has mentioned the need to install a ground loop isolator... Is this just on any RCAs from the head unit?

I didn't need one and don't have one installed. No issues with noise or alternator whine whatsoever. Probably depends on how people are wiring these things up, particularly the MOST adapter.
