Cayenne does not handle like Boxster
Put this in the "no duh" category, but after 6 weeks of driving this 958 turbo I've already ****ed up the a wheel. Going from a mid-engine superb handling Boxster to this is just too big a leap. I miss the Boxster, I should have found a way to make it work. Turbo would win on a drag strip, but the Boxster wins in the corners.
So if you have a Porsche sports car and are thinking "I need more space, I'll get a Porsche SUV, it'll be the same". No. It's not.
how accident happened:

I think the damage could have easily been done at 1/2 mph while parking next to a curb. I damaged 3 of my 4 AMG wheels that way...so pissed at nobody but me. So it's not the handling of the Cayenne but parking by the driver. If you hit something at any decent speed, the tire and wheel would look a lot worse. Sorry anyway for the damage. Suggest you patch it temporarily with a little touch up paint. It will happen again, you can bet on it.

turning radius issue? parallel parking issue? .... not sure I am getting the correlation between Boxster to CTT comparison, as it relates to the ding'd up wheel.
But just as Endless likes to say "that'll buff right out".
sorry to see that damage. Had to get 3 of mine re-worked too. happens to the best of us.

Sign up for your chapter's AutoX event. Not knowing where your wheels are is NOT the car's fault. I also agree that damage does not appear to have been done at speed.
Of course it's not going to handle like a Boxster, but neither will a 911. They are all different cars and I can assure you that the Cayenne is an amazing vehicle running around an AutoX course, but you can't go in with the misguided belief that it is a mid-engine two seater sports car

You're right, it's not a mid-engine sports car

You will calibrate to the new ride. Anytime you make a big change you have to remap all the muscle memory bits. At some point your brain will remap and you can eek out the edges and limits better.

I had my 05 CTT out on a BMW track day here in Portland, years ago. Wet track and it was much faster in the turns than the rear wheel drive P car variants. Did get the brakes heated up big time!
