I could create a new category, how about "on-looker" or "was" or "casualty" ?

You mean my own, personal padded forum?
Brilliant!
Put it to a forum vote....I'm willing to bet it will be unanimous.

I received a letter today from Tamar Rhode, customer commitment, indicating that they were hopeful that updates would be available in 2007. She cc'd Gerri Lumsden, Manager, Customer Satisfaction and Peter Schwarzenbauer.

Lewis wait for your change.

OK, so let me see if I understand this.......

You all, current Cayenne CD based NAV owners (henceforth to be referred to as 'the living dead' or simply 'the damned' or 'the condemned') have been told that PCNA is 'hopeful' that 'sometime' in '2007', the existing database (which you all covet) already in existance for DVD based PCM's will be 'transcribed' onto CDROM format......a task that on a technical scale of 1-10 is a FIVE....no, THREE Sir, THREE.......(had to throw that in for MadFox).

If I run this through my highly tweaked PCNA Bu!!**** detector, it says:
"As soon as your waranties expire for you early CDROM based NAV/PCM customers....sometime in 2007......then we'll possibly release the CDROM's".

Just when I think that PCNA's set of Brass Ones can't get any bigger (or perhaps their nose can't get any bigger), they come thru and surprise me once again.

Oh esteemed one. Actually for all the low mileage guys, it would have to be 2008 for the '04's (production was through summer '04 on the model year wasn't it?) so technically they'd need to wait until mid-2008 to release the CDROM nav update and not have any warranty issues (although I'm sure data updates aren't warranty items). I, too, detect BS.. but since I didn't get a letter and mine was one of the first at PCNA.. I'm going to go ahead with a follow-up letter just for grins and giggles. I'll post it here when I get the chance as Mudman2 suggested... however, I just haven't found the energy to write a letter to the dolts in Atlanta... it is hard to "dumb down" the rhetoric about miserable customer service or insist that there is reasonable logic about updates to NAV systems. Kool-aid where's my Kool-aid?

I sent a letter back to Tamar Rhode, customer commitment, cc'd Gerri Lumsden, Manager, Customer Satisfaction and Peter Schwarzenbauer simply stating "Lewis says you have a set of brass ones"

I'm sure they will all undertand.

Default Navtez update

Spoke with Navteq today.....I know.....big deal

NO UPDATES IN THE PIPELINE FOR CD BASED PORSCHE NAVIGATION

Sorry for screaming. I got an email notice from Navteq to keep my BMW up to date with the current data. I sold my X5 with Nav to get the CTT. MY X5 had the CD based nav, 7 CDs. I guess BMW has a new update out for my old ancient system. Imagine that....they care about me Tooo late I'm in Cayenne love

I have just joined the Rennlist forum. After reading this thread, I have also sent a stinking letter basically stating that lack of customer care from Porsche has already played into my next car buying decision and will be an input into my upcoming car buying decisions. I also mentioned that proper remedy should be that either Porsche commit to regular update or swap the CD based drives for the DVD based drives.

I don't expect to get any response but let's see..

Don't mind me, I'm just digging up another thread.

Anyone received their updated NAV CDROM's yet?

Excuse me, Mr Moderator sir.......

Do you think it's time to unplug this thread from life support?

Do you think MadFox (who started this thread) would give his approval?

I am guessing that a CDROM update is NOT pending.......
