I guess the CD owners out there will all be abandoned (about 25,000 of us) as I stated in my previous letters to PCNA.

Exclamation

I just called Navteq and have a bit of good news.....
With all of my previous calls the agents would not have any information available that indicated that updates were planned for release.
However, today when I checked, low and behold, there is now some release information. Their computers now say "late spring", no date, but at least a time frame and an indication that some CD's are down the pike for us.

Hang in there, and continue to push on.

Kooser, the firmware update was done by CD so I would not say all is lost for the CD based owners. Now it's just a matter of getting the content. But I believe the package will still be distributed by the dealer as the new data appears to require the new firmware.

Did you hear anything about a campaign on the CD based NAV? My tech mentioned this to me but don't have many details. And I am not sure if this gets you newer than 11.2004 data.....

That has not been the case in the past. Updates were ordered direct from Navteq and shipped direct.

One of the updates did require the PIWIS system to be connected in to reset something for the new software load for PCM to take.

The data is all we really need for 2.0 systems

I can confirm that. I ordered the last update direct from Navteq. It cost $199 - and then PCNA provided it for free to owners as a customer relations campaign.

Anybody get the promised follow-up letter???? I have gotten nothing. right now, I can't find my copy of the original. I'm going to attach it to another letter sent tomorrow.. I'm going to use ltc paper, it gets immediate attention..... although it's usually the legal dept!

Well since your no longer an owner you would not know. The Nav discs arrived first and show most of the Amish cart paths thru PA , next year we are hoping that Philadelphia will expanded from Penns Landing to Washingtons Crossing. Meanwhile I will continue to use the wooden path markers.

The Denison (not them anymore could not take the heat of failure) never did arrive as threatened. The owner is a shister by the sounds of it and got sick of praying on civic owners and decided to go up market where the pickings are "greener" and the customers have straw hanging out of their mouths.

I'm pretty sure our esteemed moderator was applying the 'sarcasm repellent to ltc'. PCNA couldn't give a rat's a$$ about Amish paths....they're not in the targeted PCNA purchasing demographic.

DEBATE?
Cayenne or 997S Cab?
Would you like your tight fitting pajama top "off the rack" or "tailored"?

No, of course there has been no response, why don't you draft letter 2 and we will all try again with the same letter AND you are obviously a southerner or you might have smiled instead.
