Cut the roof off my 06 S with 140K miles. A tree had fallen on it and crushed the roof. I bought it to put on a hunting lease. I bought another roof from the junkyard. I plan to put it on within the next few weeks. It will never be on the road but they are great for the deer lease. I have used my other Cayennes for years at the lease. This one I will not have to be careful with.

Cayenne Turbo S at Utah Motorsports Campus Lucas short course dirt rally course
I did this…
hopefully some drone footage and maybe some stills later. Sent it off that main straight a few times! Hard to get up and go rocking blizzaks on 20’s… hopefully back next month on proper rubber, and with more Utah cayenne peeps.

Replaced the AOS with an OEM from Pelican Parts. I had replaced just the membrane a while back, but this one suffered the same fate- arguably worse.
this happened far from home though so my engine bay has aerosolized oil all over it.
Old awaiting autopsy
New!
Sludge eww
Not the first time a broken rubber has caused problems in the world

Rocked Amateur Track day at Utah Motorsports East Course today. No video, but this thing is surprisingly fun on track. Never felt unsafe rollover-wise, which was my first worry. The brakes took the flogging like a champ, PDCC did its job, and when properly spooled up the turbos help it hustle pretty well. I suffered in the corners. It just doesn't change direction as well as the cars, no surprise, and the - ahem - blizzaks were not the first choice for lateral acceleration... But lots of fun and even a bit 4 wheel drifty at times. Had to air them down about 5 lbs under the set pressure to let them heat up to proper temp. TPMS would complain every first lap until they built up heat and pressure again...
I think (no, I know), I was the only one there with onboard air for re-inflating at the end of the day
I really wanted to pass one Mustang, and almost did, but alas it was not meant to be. Hustled past a Miata and a pickup on slicks though!
I was a bit concerned as the engine seemed to build coolant temp pretty quick, but eventually felt comfortable that it was able to manage to stay no higher than 240 F (3/4 or NE on the gauge, which usually reads rock steady at 1/2 or N at 180 F). I kind of don't want to know, but I'm sure someone will share an opinion on if this is a) just asinine stupid to flog it that hard, or if b) it is built for it don't worry, people have driven them that hard and it will manage just fine?
The oil temp stayed dead north as far as I noticed.
Got one warning for oil pressure sensor failure, but it didn't come back so I tried not to be too concerned. Checked the oil level, cooled it off and kept going. It probably deserves an early oil change.
Did I mention the brakes? Repeatedly hauling down from 100+ to cornering speed (anywhere from 20-60 I'd guess), and just bang on reliable and balanced and predictable and awesome.
No bad mechanical issues. Brakes are a bit funny but I expect they will sort themselves out after some normal wear and tear. A bit of a groan, presumably from front diff, at full lock. I'll likely change that fluid a 3rd time just for good measure, along with the oil, maybe the brake fluid again (thanks FCP Euro for my "free" replacement fluids and parts!)
Have you tracked yours?
