this is the one i bought... quality isn't that great but it had visible separate wires.. i actually removed the 2nd connector while i was in there cutting...

yes, i seem to be able to connect to everything...

my soldering skills are so lame i'm almost embarrassed to post... lol

both sides of 3, 7, and 15 are all bound together in one big glob...

eBay for the connector.
And crimps rather than dodgy solder! Far Easier and probably less of a fire hazard 😂

Ooooh... 3,7 AND 15... Why 15th pin? I don't have 15th pin crossed.

in an old thread over on the ross-tech forums:

Cool. I see it's an earlier Cayenne, "Pre UDS".

You could try routing pin 15 (the second K-Line on your interface) to pin 3 of the Cayenne's DLC. That way you should be able to get everything in one fell swoop.

Thanks for posting the pic. This clarifies everything.

Can you confirm that you have bridged all three pins together and not just connected pins 7 and 15 to the pin 3 of the connector?

This appears to be the same end result. Wires from pins 3 7 15 share the same electrical data path.

Hi I have purchased a Vag-Com cable - and now I have downloaded VCDS lite.

I have connected (on the inside of my $12 VAG-COM cable) pins 3, 7, & 15.

I tried connecting just 3 & 7, and 3 & 15. Seems to make no difference?

I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. With any iteration of "cable-mods" I can connect to engine, trans, ABS modules. Yet I cannot connect to air-bag module? Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?

Which "cable adaptation" do I need to use on my 04?
thank you

No idea sorry. Only used a genuine vcds cable and it continues to work perfectly on all modules.

Were any of you guys able to connect to the ECM? I have a 09 957 Turbo and I was unable to connect to the ECM with the pins shorted, or not shorted. I was however able to scan most of the other modules including the transmission. Thanks.

Hi all,

In case anyone using VCDS is interested I managed to reset the Service Now message in a 2004 CS:

With this VCDS guide as reference I tried the SRI reset option in VCDS main menu but that did not work. Next I went to the Cluster Module 17 and read the channels listed in the link´s first picture: for my car only the channels 40,41 and 44 worked.
In each of the channels I just entered the MAX value that it would allow me and after saving all three, the remainder is gone.

Channel 40 max value is 100
Channel 41 max value is 1440
Channel 44 max value is 1440

I don´t how to set the values to get a remainder for a specific period of miles or time, but because I am following my own service intervals since I bought the car I just put the max value.

hope it works for you guys.
