Best Catch Can 2018 Edition

I swore at those types of clamps for years but finally got on the band wagon and bought a set of them and the crimping pliers to go with them as they are actually a better clamp than the worm drive type we all previously used. They give a much more even constant pressure around the whole hose. There are different sizes and such but are known as Oetiker clamps and/or Ear clamps and Earl clamp pliers.
To remove, take a pair of strong diagonal wire cutters and cut through the protruding ear of the clamp, then it will open up and come off. I use these on connections that won't need to come apart frequently. They also make double-ear versions for clamping connections where you need a larger starting diameter that becomes a smaller clamped diameter.
These are the single ear clamps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You'll need pliers like this to work with them - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The other type of clamps I've found work well and without cutting into the hoses your clamping like regular adjustable hose clamps do are these wire clamps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I'm getting ready to order a catch can and mentally preparing for the install but have a couple questions.
- Read where someone mentioned install in a cool location (temperature now lol); is that why folks are going under the beauty covers?
- As far as plumbing routing for the turbo (not taking into consideration the "look") - any disadvantage using the simple approach that Dilberto posted? You save the hassle of the routing under airbox and AC pulley and one less cut.

Actually a cool location is not ideal as in the winter months, the condensed oil can get sludgy. In fact some catch cans and AOS devices have a cavity in the back to plumb into the cooling system so that hot coolant runs though the device to keep it warm and prevent the congealing of the separated oil and water clogging it up.

I had a Radium AOS heated on my Cayenne build and even tho it is a beautifully crafted product I was less than thrilled with the amount of oil that was making it's way past it. Internally it was a pretty standard basic design in line with a lot of other brands. After a lot of thought about what might make a Catch Can work better than what was currently being offered, and thinking about fabbing my own idea, I ran across this. I mounted it externally in the intercooler duct. The amount of oil and water it collects is crazy.

J'sWorld, no offense but after watching that video, what I got out of it was I think 3 guys trying to figure out the plumbing of the system and they all seemed confused and not very familiar with the system.

I ordered https://eliteracefab.com/products/mi...36944686448808 Got the idea from this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...gts-957-a.html
Came in nice packaging, but they weren't lying when they said it was compact. I'll see how it goes and may move it over to the wife's mini if not adequate.
As far as your projects, I'd do the HPFP first. I'd get familiar with the bolt locations or even go as far a removing the backing plate. And figure out what's the best comfortable working position and if your hands are HPFP friendly. Then add some JB weld to the water distributor connection since it's right in that area, and see if the post O2 is easily accessible.
