These are the single ear clamps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You'll need pliers like this to work with them - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The other type of clamps I've found work well and without cutting into the hoses your clamping like regular adjustable hose clamps do are these wire clamps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I like those wire clamps.

So I'm getting ready to order a catch can and mentally preparing for the install but have a couple questions.
- Read where someone mentioned install in a cool location (temperature now lol); is that why folks are going under the beauty covers?
- As far as plumbing routing for the turbo (not taking into consideration the "look") - any disadvantage using the simple approach that Dilberto posted? You save the hassle of the routing under airbox and AC pulley and one less cut.

Actually a cool location is not ideal as in the winter months, the condensed oil can get sludgy. In fact some catch cans and AOS devices have a cavity in the back to plumb into the cooling system so that hot coolant runs though the device to keep it warm and prevent the congealing of the separated oil and water clogging it up.

The dual chamber Verus AOS I installed in my 928 has this feature.

That's actually not true. An AOS and a catch can are totally different. I've run both. Problem is there are a lot of bad products out there that don't work well even when installed properly. A catch can is designed to work off a temperature differential and as such a cool location will make it much more efficient. The "sludge" in the can is mostly water and oil. Along with catching more water you also catch more oil. There is no disadvantage. An AOS needs to be heated to boil off the water so that it is not returned to the crankcase and instead burned in the engine. Along with that water are acids and other by products so I prefer to collect versus recycle them.

I had a Radium AOS heated on my Cayenne build and even tho it is a beautifully crafted product I was less than thrilled with the amount of oil that was making it's way past it. Internally it was a pretty standard basic design in line with a lot of other brands. After a lot of thought about what might make a Catch Can work better than what was currently being offered, and thinking about fabbing my own idea, I ran across this. I mounted it externally in the intercooler duct. The amount of oil and water it collects is crazy.

McNally gen2 Catch can, also sold under several house brand names,

J'sWorld, no offense but after watching that video, what I got out of it was I think 3 guys trying to figure out the plumbing of the system and they all seemed confused and not very familiar with the system.

So I ordered the CC today, and just got notification that it will be delivered tomorrow. Am I ready to do the install this weekend? Hell no...lol...still have to get some connections @the auto store.

Good evening EliteRaceFab.com customer. This is the email that you have been waiting on all day…its your tracking number for your parts purchased from us. No fears, we wont judge you if you decide to do a little dance or jump into the air with excitement as we are all avid car enthusiasts ourselves and thus we treat incoming car parts like a child waiting on Christmas presents too With that said please take a few moments to leave us a feedback or tag on Google/Facebook/Instagram. Why should you waste your time telling the world how much you enjoyed your purchase from us, or showing off some pictures of your ride and or parts? Because every month on the 25th we take all customers who have tagged us in any Facebook/ Instagram posts or have left us feedbacks(good or bad as we value all opinions) and put them into a raffle for free Swag(hats/shirts/hoodies), Gift Cards(free $$ for future purchases with us), and even Cash $$. Just a small token of our appreciation for helping us be able to do what we love doing day in and day out. So take a moment and hashtag us in your car photos, your part installs, or drop us a feedback. Keep in mind any of the above get you an entry into the monthly drawing (each person is limited to 10 entries per month max for all the over achievers lol).

Which can did you decide to order? I am going to install one at the same time as my HPDFP... since I have to do a thermostat, water pump, coils and plugs and everything else next week.

I ordered https://eliteracefab.com/products/mi...36944686448808 Got the idea from this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...gts-957-a.html

Came in nice packaging, but they weren't lying when they said it was compact. I'll see how it goes and may move it over to the wife's mini if not adequate.

As far as your projects, I'd do the HPFP first. I'd get familiar with the bolt locations or even go as far a removing the backing plate. And figure out what's the best comfortable working position and if your hands are HPFP friendly. Then add some JB weld to the water distributor connection since it's right in that area, and see if the post O2 is easily accessible.

Thanks for the info about the can and the reminder about pinning the distributor connection. I have to drain some of the coolant to do the thermostat, housing and water pump anyway... It appears that I am going to spend some time lying on my engine!

Cheers,
Tom

Looks good. How did you mount to top bracket and what is it mounted to?
