Was wondering the same thing myself. Pretty sure if there is one, it's exploded by now. Rod upgrades can be done though... but PDK will still hold us back for some time longer.

I recently acquired an 09 997 tip coupe in silver and black . currently 18k . Car has sportchrono ,heated /ventilated seats,PCM 3.0 and CPO . I will get back with the vin . I also have a 99 996 cabrio tip ,silver and a salvage title . Preivious owner wants to buy it back ? Being in the truck and equipment business I get my share of shifting . I am thinking about an IMS update in the 996 ?

Number built with US VIN >/= 580
Percent MT/Tip = 43%/57%
Percent Titled in 2008 = 35% (n=14)
Here's the latest numbers on the 2009 coupes now with a sample size of 28.
Number built with US VIN >/= 583 (+3 cars)
Percent MT/Tip = 43%/57% (no change)
Percent Titled in 2008 = 25% (vs. 35%)

This is great analysis, thanks for doing it on our collective behalf. I'm confused on one point though. PCNA's press release lists 321 couples sold in the 09 CY. We don't know if any 2010 997.2 cars slipped into that number, but with the changeover perhaps not. If we assume for a minute that all those 321 were 09's that would represent 55% of 583 so that would mean that 45% of 09's were sold in CY 08. If there were 2010's in CY 09 number it would be greater that 45%. How does that square with your 25% number, or am I missing something? It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

Great question, because you cannot look at one set of numbers without reconciling with the other. In this case number of cars built using VINs with a sampling of 2009 turbo coupes vs PCNA's car sales in 2009. The weakest part of the analysis is the % sold in 2008 because I am determining that only when the car listed on eBay or autotraders and has a CarFax report to show the vehicle registration. Notice the 35% to 25% swing in this value. The Great Recession may have also resulted in 2009 being sold in 2010 too. For cars not ordered by customers, I saw that some cars sat on lots for nine+ months.

Regardless of how you look at it, the 2009 turbo is rare, and with 43% with 6 speed MT, that puts it at 250 cars...

Default 2009 vs. 2012 (preliminary)

For comparison, here's the preliminary 2012 values vs. the previously reported 2009 information. There's more power train options in 2012 with the Turbo and Turbo S models.

2009 Cab
Number built with US VIN >/= 706
Percent MT/Tip = 35%/65%
Number built with MT >/= 248
n=37

2009 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 583
Percent MT/Tip = 39%/61%
Number built with MT >/= 226
n=31

2012 Cab
Number built with US VIN >/= 520
Percent S = 60% (Turbo S model not available in 2009)
Percent MT/PDK = 10%/90% (PDK only available transmission on the Turbo S)
Number built with MT >/= 52
n=20

2012 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 659
Percent S = 80% (Turbo S model not available in 2009)
Percent MT/PDK = 10%/90% (PDK only available transmission on the Turbo S)
Number built with MT >/= 66
n=20

Are you including '08s with the '07s, seems like a lot of 07 mt cars out there?
