The weather finally warmed back up today so took advantage and changed Turbo emblems. A little Goo Gone, elbow grease, Adams polish and some rubbing alcohol and we have a new chrome emblem. I probably spent 45 minutes making the change and working at an easy pace.
I'm not much on the blacked out look the car came with (black wheels, emblems, etc.) so I chose chrome to go with the chrome dual tips (in transit) and brushed clear rims.
Took the stock tips off today. Soaked them in PB Blaster and a little WD-40 and worked them off. Honestly, they came off a lot easier than I anticipated.
I'm now waiting on my UPS driver to show up this afternoon. Stay tuned for some chrome goodness in a few.
Clear Sidemarkers and Exhaust Tips installed. I really like how the chrome turbo and tips now compliment each other. I can't wait to get the brushed clear KL12's installed and it should really pull the look I'm going for all together. I received notice today the KL12's are about a week out from completion. Let's go.
I sent the defective diffuser back today. UPS sent an email saying the new one from Champion should arrive tomorrow.
Things are starting to slowly come together. I can't get into the dealer until Friday to reset the ECU back to stock. The Cobb Tune will have to wait until the weekend.
After the marker and tip install I did a quick wash and photoshoot before dark. I really wanted to pull out the medium format gear and lighting for the shoot, but time ran out. I'll save that for when the tires and wheels are mounted. To be honest, I am really impressed with the iPhone 13 Pro Max capabilities.
All shots on my iPhone with some editing in Lightroom.
I had a time finding tips for a 997.2 Turbo. John reached out to my WTB listing with one pair in stock. I purchased them four days ago and they arrived today. Outstanding customer service and fitment was perfect! Thanks @John D II
car is coming along! pretty amazing how far iphone photography has come.
those speedtech tips look great. when i ordered my speedtech exhaust last fall, i asked for the dual 3" tips but they didn't ask me about the finish. i did not realize the polished ones were not the default. mine came with brushed tips, which i don't even recall seeing pictured on the site. the exhaust sounds great but i don't love the tips, brushed might work well on black but i don't think so on a white car. seems like that was a pretty easy job to swap out?

Thanks, Jim, I'm glad it worked out and you like them! Your car looks great!

Very easy swap with a little WD40 and / or PB Blaster.
Had the ECU re-flashed back to stock so I could install the Stage 1 Cobb Tune. The Cobb successfully backed up my stock tune and installed the Cobb Stage 1 without a hitch. The difference from stock to tuned made a huge difference in throttle response and eliminating a lot of lag. The turbo is crazy fast with the stock tune, but after having the stage one installed I wouldn't want to go back.
I received Champion Motor Sports Werks Diffuser Thursday and had a chance to install this morning. It's now obvious to me that the first diffuser from eBay was a knock-off. The Werks is made so much better and fitment was perfect. Very pleased with the look.
Now the wait begins for the wheels to arrive in a couple of weeks. Tires are ready just need the wheels. In the meantime, I may tackle the plug and coil install later next week. Today, we drive!
Love the new diffuser! It seems to be a pretty rare modification, but I definitely like the look. I look forward to seeing some photos of your car's rear from a bit further away, to get the more natural perspective on it. Lucky for all of us that you're a photographer!
