Oops. I appear to have posted my previous post in the wrong thread. Guess when I have two threads open at once I should double check which one I am posting to . Back to our normal scheduled programming!
I didn’t do anything to the 997TT today except back it out of the garage to have more room to work on a project. Once out in the sunlight, I couldn’t help but admire the beauty of these cars. Ended up taking it for a quick spin to run through the gears 😁
would love to hear “how” different it rides now vs stock now thag you’ve done the Eibach springs and DSC controller. Assume you’re still on factory struts? Did the spacers make the steering feel a bit heavier? I’m looking at doing the same upgrades and would be great to hear your experience! Thx!

Drives like a completely different car now.
Up next - body paint match the front spoiler and rockers. This is the year of her glow up.

I think the sweet spot was stock springs and DSC controller which I ran for some time. The DSC controller is a really nice upgrade, driving is improved in sport and non sport. It really is true what they say, that's the best money I've spent on this car so far.
I haven't noticed the steering feels heavier due to the spacers. My other fun car is 04 R32 and that thing is pretty raw, my tolerance for having to put effort into driving is not low.
As of right now I prefer the stock springs over the Eibachs. Daily driving is a bit more rough. I haven't had a lot of time to beat on it but the spirited banking turns I've taken so far was not quite what I am used to. I'm sure I will adjust. Regardless, it was worth it no matter what because even that subtle 3/4" drop improves the look tremendously.
The DSC controller is really what has made the most difference here.
I’ve done the lowered car thing on other sports coupes and cabriolets but since my 997 TT is my daily I just don’t want the hassle of worrying about scraping all the time or riding rougher than it does already on crap roads.
Appreciate the confirmation that DSC and stock PASM is Goldilocks feel (even if not ideal stance). Also I had an R32 once as well. Good taste! Super fun.

Finally got my cruise control working. For some reason it was coded out. Now I don’t have to watch my speed on the freeway. This car is easy to get into triple digits and not know it.
Got a chance to drive another Turbo and immediately noticed way better brake feel. Did another brake bleed including ABS unit because apparently the pedal feel isn’t supposed to feel the way they have been since I got the car. Drained about 1.25 liters doing it with ABS bleed. It improved the feel but not near solid pedal (have to double press to get a solid pedal). Thinking I might have a bad master cylinder so a new one is on the way.
Been chasing spongy brake pedal for a few weeks now. Been reading a lot of threads about this issue. After initial bleeding the system 4 times including ABS bleed, my pedal was still going to the floor and very unpredictable. This lead me to take a look at the master cylinder. Found out by checking the part number on the master cylinder that is in the car, it was replaced with Lucas unit for a base 996.
Ordered a replacement unit from FCP and started the bleeding process with bleeding the new MC first
After getting that done, I connected the brake lines to it and immediately had a better brake pedal feel. Did the full brake bleeding procedure twice and after a gallon of fluid flush, I have a better brake pedal feel, that it is consistent and no double pressing needed anymore. It isn’t solid but will do another bleed soon or change pads again. Reading that Hawk ceramic gives a soft feel.
It began with a desire for GT2RS intercoolers but escalated to installing new turbos, intercoolers, an exhaust, and replacing a missing car part. Initially, my goal was to manage AIT levels, so I chose GT2RS intercoolers. However, during installation, I found the driver's side intercooler filled with oil. Given the high mileage on my car, I anticipated the need for new turbos eventually, and to my dismay, the intercoolers I purchased were leaking. With the turbos removed, I decided to replace the spark plugs with Denso 3245s, although the stock ones were looking good. I also intended to add the missing screw to the coil packs, thanks Porsche. I modified the coil pack to accommodate the missing screws. Later, while reassembling, I realized my car lacked a bracket to secure the drivers side heat shield. This explained the odd noise at certain RPMs, which was the heat shield vibrating due to being held by only one screw. Now, with both screws in place, the heat shield is silent.
I purchased an additional set of turbos intending to rebuild them with 65s while using the stock ones. These were rebuilt with billet 65mm compressors and clipped turbines. Meanwhile, the stock turbos were restored to their original specifications.
I've removed the faulty GT2RS intercoolers and installed a set of Wagner EVO2s. The carbon fiber components included in the kit are really impressive.
Not pictured is the Europipe, I wish I would have installed this a long time ago.
