Spoiler issue resolved. Computer thought that it was a 987, and that the spoiler was fixed. Changed those two options with the Durametric, and all of a sudden the button works again.

It’s so bizarre all the weird things done to the car. Why did the prior owner code the wing off? Guess we will never know unless tomorrow you’ve got a pentosin puddle under it.

Yep, probably the same guy who swapped out the center console from one from a cabriolet.. just imagine the stories this car could tell if it could talk..

Figure it's probably best to keep all my updates in one thread since I'm kinda taking over the "What would you replace your Turbo with" one.
Right now my 997.1TT is my only vehicle. So when it's leaking fluid, when warning lights come on, when something doesn't work right, it stresses me out a bit. ESPECIALLY anything to do with the engine. This has seriously dampened my enjoyment of what was supposed to be my dream car. I still love working on it, but I don't enjoy driving it. And that sucks when you're making a payment. So I talked it over with the wife and decided to sell the 911 and get a fun car with a warranty.
That's when I learned that nobody else wants a high mile 911 either. Especially one that rattles and leaks. I thought I was doing good by putting 40% down. Turns out the trade-in value is significantly lower than expected. I'm receiving offers between 28K and 41.5K for it. Needless to say, these offers are unacceptable. I thought I had a decent deal lined up with a swap for a Mustang, but that didn't work out. The dealership changed the deal between shaking hands and walking into the finance dept. I don't want to give people like that any of my money. So, since I need a better offer, and I don't need to sell right away, I've elected to pay the pros to finish the repairs - then try and sell it private party. The leaks and rattles will be repaired later this month by someone who isn't angry every time they see the car and the next owner won't have to go through what I did. I'm scheduled for the car to go in for service next Thursday. I'll post up the finally tally just for kicks, and then probably shut this thread down.

^ As I mentioned in the other thread, you got taken advantage of when you bought it, and I really feel bad for you. But, I get why you want to move on.. everyone has their limits, and mine would have been met when it showed up on the truck.
Good luck.
Good luck.

God, seeing things like this make me second-guess my decision to have the dealership work on it. Install two brackets and replace an O-ring. Maybe $100 in parts, and I'm paying $1500 for it.

Even if it costs you a few more bucks to get it all sorted out, once it's at a point where it will pass most people's PPIs you should be able to move it pretty quickly in the low-to-mid $50s in a private sale. That's an extra $10k+ over trade-in to help take the sting out of the whole affair.

Props to your determination. I'd try to purchase a second car for your daily driver. This will allow you to get some breathing room and sort things out.
Many owners have been faced with Coolant fitting issues and clutches after there car purchase. Or even the dreaded camshaft slippage or a failed turbocharger.

i just recently sold my Carrera S and bought a Turbo, thanking my lucky stars she was cared for, I had the spoiler issue as I think most have had it will have, I sent the entire set up to Mario in Florida and it’s back in and working perfect for 800.00 so for now I’m all sorted although reading this thread has given me some anxiety!
i hope you keep us posted until it’s all over.
best of luck to you and your new purchase!
edited because I can’t stop thinking about your situation.
so what do you think happened to the car to make it such a basket case? I mean for being as amazing as they are they are pretty reliable as a super cars goes, so what happened? I mean it’s not like someone never changed the oil as that’s engine internals.
All I can think of was that it was driven hard it’s whole life with no care, maybe someone young judging by the weird module in the fuse box?
Anyway I can’t shake wondering what it’s life was like before you. Did you ever get a car fax?
