This 62k-mile Guards Red .1 GT3 looks like it is gonna come up for auction somewhere (BAT or Pcarmarket possibly). Has PCCB. There’s a weird buzzing sound in the walk around when the camera gets to the back of the car.

in all seriousness they should take 30 min and remove that rear bumper and bend whatever piece is rubbing on the body or frame

Looks like the PTS guards red 997.2 RS at switchcars sold for $315K plus fees. A bit far off from the $400K they were looking for initially but probably a good result overall.

Yeah. That can't be right. It's not the private transaction itself that's taxable; it's the registration of the car with the state, which is in turn a percentage of the purchase price (or at least the price you lie and say you paid . . .).

True. In Arizona a used car sale between to private parties is not taxable.
Do I pay sales tax on a used car from a private party in Arizona?
A. No. Casual sales between private parties are not taxable. When you register your vehicle at MVD, bring a copy of the bill of sale or any documentation that shows you purchased the vehicle from a private party.
Amazing, eh?

How would he know the reserve though? And i think the reserve was higher than $315K, as the auction wasn't marked sold until several hours after it ended, from what i recall when i looked yesterday (could be a website glitch, i guess). It is a bit odd overall. That said, that was a nice car, and definitely a top of the market example.

These 3RS prices are certainly compelling. -- But like all the inflated values on premium goods... what are you going to replace a 997 3RS with ...and at what premium? -- Is the 997.2 GT3RS the new 964 RS? -- Once the 964 RS took off it never back-tracked (that I can remember). IMO, most of the colors of all but the very few PTS 997.2 3RS's are soooo boring comparatively to the rubystone, yellow & mint green RS cars of the 90's. And that makes me wonder if the 964 RS market support was based more a limited release coupled with some super funky colors that built the 964 RS market's foundation? I should probably also say I don’t want a post 997 GT car bc I think they look like Lego or Transformers ...sorry but just my opinion.
Reason I am here is bc I want a non-RS 2 or 3 -- triple black, full leather, XM, PCCB, heated seats, axel lift -- clean, no stories, non-tracked, pristine DME w/<40k miles for a DD.
...Anyone?

i mean I’ve done this myself… it’s usually one of 3 things
- intimidate the other bidders that your not stopping
- try and hit a reserve that you think is close
- I need to step away from the auction and set my max bid knowing I may not be around to respond…eg wife yells at me to get a toddler

While it is a bit odd, I really don't think it's a big deal, and regardless, the car is sold to the same bidder that bid against himself. No need to have anyone explain anything here. Congrats to the new owner!
