Just saw an Aqua Blue/Guards Red .2 RS was inside a flooded warehouse (Gotham Dream Cars) in New Jersey. Insurance company may total this car. Car is at 5:35 in this video.

You make it seem as settling for a gt4 is a bad thing. Settling for a car that won evo car of the year over a loaded playing field does not sound bad at all. As someone who has now driven both cars extensively I don't understand why it is sometimes looked down upon.
Steve, if a GT4 is the one most attainable to you, I firmly believe you will not be disappointed in it. It isn't the mezger or the 4 liter in the 991s but they are damn good. Revving them out is very satisfying and the 981s sound very good (have not driven a 718 so can't comment). I would say the biggest negative from my experience is that you need to drive it a little faster to really get the experience. The older 997s can be fun even at slow speeds but the newer cars seem to take a little more. I still really enjoy driving it on public roads and it is such a nice neutral, balanced feel. I never really had a problem with the tall gears but I know that is one negative for a lot of people.
I personally think in time, the gt4s (and soon to be gt4 RS) are going to be quite desirable.

Both are currently gone.
I had the yellow one for 8 years, the silver one for < 8 months.
Both are very good cars.
I never bonded with the silver one.

It is time to sell the .2RS. It has become worthless!!!! 4K miles. It is about to fall apart!
I love this thing! How magnificent it is: that Mezger engine roar! I am going to take mine out for a spin right now! I don't care how much it depreciates when I add another 15 miles. I might even have to pay somebody to take it off my hands! Ha!

We talked about this car a couple months ago on this thread. Looks like it was totaled in the flood.

even after it’s cleaned up and working it’s still only going to be 180-$200k prob, may as well build it?

I know everyone said not to touch it, but what about picking it up and sending direct to shark weeks for a 4.1 build? Still may need a new wiring harness, DME Etc I guess..

Do we know how many miles were on the car at the time of the flood?

In the pro-touring world we rebuild these type of accidents and incidents. But, there's no Porsche tax either.
You should see my '70 Camaro before and after. 45k in body alone (two different times over 15 years, 1st one wasn't done right)....When I got it in 90, it was totaled. And its "just" a Camaro, not a GT3.
Alot of valid points between mold and corrosion, but a frame off is a frame off and I think doing it to one of these GT's carries much validity.
I'm tempted.....projects, for me, are part of the fun!
