Maybe it was wrecked? Seems like that’s often a reason someone does something like this. When its originality is shot, and a salvage resto shop gets their hands on it, this is often the result. That being said, I have no idea if that was the reason; I’m just speculating based on a few examples like this I’ve seen in the past.

Wow, a quick calc suggests $77k in SW mod work performed! And says not a track rat. A rare GT3.
