Dedication?

Is that what we're calling it now?

Thankfully, I was almost dedicated...

When I saw the above picture it seemed all too familiar. Then I realized, it really is true, Porsche is going after a new target market:

Nice !

Porsche AG wins either way. We just keep buying these babies.

Hmmm... Let's review, shall we?

1) Epoxied coolant lines in the 996 GT3. Luckily, I was able to weld, and cost out of pocket was roughly $3-4k to engine drop & labor. Unfortunately, many of my 996GT3 buddies were not so lucky.
2) CL issues on the 997.2. Going to a CL config for street driving and possible track MAKES SO MUCH SENSE... Oh wait - it makes sense for the Porsche service department + $$$. Got it.
3) Now this with the 991 GT3. Seriously?

I just want OUR GT3s to remain reliable supercars... Drive hard on the track, put away wet, repeat - and then take wife to Opera. Good livin' in my book.

Old Model: Porsche=Reliability on the Track. Weissach better get their act together...

yes..correct..youre just forgetting that:

1) other GT3s didnt burn down = considerable safety issue (OK, one could argue loosing a wheel at 100mph is at least as dangerous..)

2) more importantly, other GT3s didnt have to be delayed for 6 month due to severe technical issues..and then when they are finally being delivered they are having a new issue. The car isnt even really on the market..and already starts to make problems..where will it end?

The fact that the apparently new motorsport engine which was developped years ago..and now is still not used in a 2014CUP/RSR..well Im not even considering this here..

Time will tell..the "market =(prices)" will decide about this car. Lets speak in 2 years again to see where we are..

http://www.welt.de/motor/article1249...u-brennen.html

although in German - ..this would be a totally new issue:
Noch steht die Fehlerursache nicht zu 100 Prozent fest, aber derzeit sieht es nach Angaben des Sprechers so aus, als wäre in einem Zylinder das Pleuel gerissen

use google translator..and you´ll see. Of course, nothing confirmed yet..but its maybe more then just a "little plastic" that started burning..

To make a car with an engine that revs to 9000 rpm - you have to be Honda. Long live the S2000.

The translation from P_collector's post...

"Still, the cause of the error is not 100 percent fixed, but currently it looks, according to the speaker of as if in a cylinder connecting rod torn"

No so sure it would help put the fires out but maybe if you could get to the engine from above by opening the rear decklid, people could use an extinguisher to put out the fire before the entire car is engulfed....just sayin

Porsche hast just issued a warning to all its 991 GT3 customers that the car should not be driven at all anymore !!!

This car is not only "burning down"..also apparently the RWS has caused accidents. I wont post this in the 991 section..as poeple will probably ..

Let them find out by themselves..
