I love the silver on the Mexico build of Singer. Clean and simple with a touch of elegance. Does anyone know what color that would compare to in a Porsche color? Singer calls it Singer Racing Silver. Looks to me to be a tad bit darker than Arctic.

Quick update. Yesterday the 458 Spider left the building. It also was my birthday. I had been mulling what to do in the long long wait for the SVD and finally pulled the trigger on a car i've always loved and held as a long term safe play.

Congratulations. What a great and daunting decision to make. A client of mine and I went through an exhaustive study on potential color combinations for a 356 A he's having restored in California. In the end he went with silver, but I am a big fan of the solid colors from the ’50s and ’60s.
Since "Stone Grey", "Ivory", "Slate Grey" and "Gulf Blue" (effectively "Meissen") have been "taken" (though that wouldn't bother me at all), I suggest some Volkswagen colors from the same era. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were a few redundant colors between the two companies. But with Volkswagen having far more models to paint, there is more selection in the same spirit as the original Porsche colors.

I like L28 "Grey". L21 "Pearl Grey" looks great in the chip but it is a bit brownish in reality. These colors are really susceptible to ambient light so the hue shifts easily.
L320 "Dolphin Grey Light" looks very similar to Porsche's "Dolphin Grey" which can look a touch vapid in the wrong light. I prefer the L321 dark version (looks very similar to the one on the Porsche earlier in the thread). While a tobacco brown leather interior would be the precious choice of color, I'd consider either a deep chestnut or navy blue.
It looks great on this two-tone Beetle:
L345 "Light Grey" looks a lot like "Stone Grey" in reality:
L376 "Gazelle Beige" is lovely on this Karmann Ghia:
L264 "Rock Grey" is beautiful and creamy. A bit greenish, but not in a sickly way.
Of course the list goes on, but as a designer and art director, I would love to be in your position. If anyone wants professional advice on this matter don't hesitate to email me.

Color is so important. Pastels are the color of the day right now. Just pick your favorite color and decide what shade of it looks good. Then pick a contrasting color for the inside. Don't try to make a statement to the world with your choice. Black and white are neutral colors. Really dark paint makes the car look smaller, and light/bright colors make the car look larger. Simple, not rocket science. Metalic colors are very hard to match if you have to do body work in the future. May not be important now, but if anything happens in the future you will be glad you went with a solid color. Good luck.
