Default RS 4.0 getting passed by a Scion....

Anybody want to fess up to this? The FRS is basically stock power (200bhp, 150lbft). No forced induction kit.

http://www.ft86club.com/?p=2619

Now the FRS/BRZ fanbois are going to think that their tricked out cars will hang with an RS 4.0...

Nothing wrong with being slow, but when you're getting passed by a Scion FRS, you're probably in the wrong run group.

I bought one of my son's an FR-S. Waited months to land a 6MT at our local dealers.
For the price I am nicely impressed with the car but please no way it can out pull a GT3 let alone a 4.0L.
Isn't there a spec race series planned for these cars?

I'm assuming that was directed at the website and not me. I don't care if the FRS is fully stripped, on slicks, or supercharged. It can't hang with a stock rs4.0.

The issue is that the website is somehow insinuating that an FRS can hang with a GT3 because someone put himself in the wrong run group.

Click on 'after the jump' to read the thread. The guy who started the thread is innocent. It's the website that promoted the thread that is delusional

Driver of the FRS is a good guy. The car lost an engine shortly after this.

I ran a 2:34 in my 997.1 GT3 on street tires (MP Super Sports) at that event. I heard that similar GT3's on race tires were running upper 2:20's.

Are you really losing sleep over this? Who cares?

I'd be driving 6/10ths in a quarter million dollar collector's car too...

Better driver in slower car, why would anyone get defensive?

4.0 driver was not unsafe or using horrible lines, Ive seen (and driven) much much worse driving go faster which needs a call out more than this. Even if slower driver, better than cars n coffee only car. Ive been passed by a scion myself before, but never a GT3 that's not a cup.

Quick Reply: RS 4.0 getting passed by a Scion....
