Better driver in slower car, why would anyone get defensive?
4.0 driver was not unsafe or using horrible lines, Ive seen (and driven) much much worse driving go faster which needs a call out more than this. Even if slower driver, better than cars n coffee only car. Ive been passed by a scion myself before, but never a GT3 that's not a cup.

I'm more 'annoyed' at the website for promoting the video as a 'kill' than anything else:

We all know that the FR-S is a very capable track car, especially with a few track-spec upgrades. Just how well does a track prepped FR-S compare against the high performance 997 GT3 at the Circuit of the Americas track? See for yourself after the jump."

Everyone wants to feel they bought something capable of taking down a GT3 RS. The FRS is a great car. The GT3 is fantastic. Driven both. No way an FRS could "kill" a GT3. FRS acceleration is anemic at best.

Wouldn't it be cool if someone actually did build a $30,000 car that COULD outperform a 4.0?

unfortuantely, ownership does not = instant driver. whether it be the famed 4.0L, or the Porsche in panties

I was thinking this was awesome until I read the post about the FRS losing its engine (in stock form). That answers that question. Too bad though, a "tuned" FRS seemed like it might be a fun track car that would be much easier to stomach if balled up.

classic! Lol
On topic , the 4.0 looks slow indeed. The new 991 GTR3 will be faster and, most important, easier to drive flat out.
Undoubtedly, such an incident will never be repeated.
BTW I hate all these little cheap cars and I only drive my Evo with a paperbag over my head.

Not disagreeing with you. The RS4.0 driver should be commended for the point by and being out there to begin with. But why not check the ego at the door and bump yourself down a run group and get a coach? The FRS was running street tires.

[QUOTE=wanna911;10350004]That's the same one that got me. Aweful lines and sloppy driving that day from both of us. My car was still street though, could certainly give him a run now, except on the straights. Never been pulled that hard. Including 900 hp GT-R's. I think that thing is like 800hp and 2200 lbs. Nuts. See if I can find that vid.
It was when my car was full street too, with a stock motor and mostly stock suspension and no aero. I think I could get him now too, It ran like a 1:34.XX.X something, with the new build I have gone 1:32.xx.
I hope we see more of those little Subies and Scions at the track, we could use the people at Miller. I think they're cool looking little cars.
