If that is a challenge, you're on. Name the day and place.

Regarding the flags, MVP must take some responsibility here. COTA follows FIA rules and not DE rules. Two weeks ago Drivers Edge was at COTA and they had no RED flags.
The key, they had more support staff and their staff in the control tower calling the flags. Therefore when they had a stall, yellow flag until T12, then black and yellow together for pitting. Lesson learned to any organizer at COTA, make sure you have a person in the control room calling the flags, don't leave it up to COTA.

Ummm I didn't know DE had different flagging rules. Every event I have ever run and it's over 100 at 23 different tracks and they all followed SCCA flagging rules. The only difference is DE is more prone to throw a black flag when a car is off track and broken than a local yellow.

Here is my buddy ShakeNBake (in his 997.2 GT3RS on 15 cycle R6's) playing follow the slow 240 hp M3 at TWS. As you can see, I had nothing for him on the straights, being down 200 hp LOL! But he kept turning down the point by, and finally after some traffic we got a decent lap or two together. Fun times!

I have stalked Randy Pobst, Seth, Skeen, even Chris Harris when he came to Road Atlanta like that for some laps to study the cars language/speed, angles entering and exit corners. Try it and see how it feels relative to my own. You can always tell when there is a BOSS in the drivers seat, even the under powered cars.

Some of the key take-aways from the video that helped my friend in the GT3RS are how late I can brake into T1 without upsetting the car or even going into ABS; how early & how little I am braking everywhere else; and how the rear of my car is not lifting at all under braking, showing how relatively softly I am braking, keeping the platform stable, and preserving entry speeds. Jenks touched in this related to our working together at Mid Ohio in another thread. Also, look at apex discipline & consistency.

All things I regularly work on to get clients faster!

That is one thing Rick Malone at Spring Mountain outside of Vegas was harping on at the last driving school I went to a month or so ago. He kept talking about not nailing the crap out of the brakes which was counter-intuitive to how I've driven the past 10+ years at DE's. Also, slowing down a touch more on corner entry to get a quicker acceleration point at apex on corner exit. I would always dive bomb corners and spend a second or two past apex getting the car sorted and calmed down before going back hard into the throttle. Definitely some nice tricks to be learned for us clowns who have driven like maniacs at DE's for a long time.
