Just did first session.
High 40's and ran a few low 18's and a 17.5
Not the best driving with experimenting new found MPH and grip level.
If I would have nailed it, it would have been a 2:16 for sure. TBL was 2:15!!

Missed the first and fast session.
Went out on te second one where track was slower and hotter temps.

2:16.1 and multiples 2:16s under traffic.

2:15 to come.

Fiat no longer has the best time.

Please tell me you have a video or he will DQ you.

Hey Rad, what is the predicted lap time in a POS 4.0 on slicks?
Are we now saying 2:13??
Pretty crazy stuff. A guy with Fiat money would regear, set up suspension, shocks, springs, some other little stuff and could get a 2:11?

no data, no video, no valid.

You break my 2012 Lap Record, and I will grab it again. If Fiat did 16.5 on a humid track and almost 100 degrees weather, imagine what it can do on 40 degrees weather, a dry track, and plenty of race rubber on the ground.

You left a lot of time in between T16 and T17 on that fast 2:17.5 lap (on RA1, awesome). You actually ran 1.5 secs faster than your best effort with the 3.8RS on RA (2:18:999), exactly the lap time difference I told you there is between a 3.8RS and a 4.0RS at Sebring.

With a better exit line out of T16, a pair of power shifts (check Cayman videos) and late entry into T17 (try to late apex that 1st bridge), you can get in the high 16s. Fresh R6 would drop to low 15s, and fresh slicks would put you on high 13s.

With just a 200 lbs weight reduction, on that weather, on slicks and fixing your mess between T16 and T17, a 2:11 is achievable, and 2:11 is crazy territory, that's the lap time of a 2009 3.6 GT3 Cup with a very good driver.

I like what cold weather does everywhere. At Sebring, back in my 2nd Winterfest, I was getting 157mph (actual GPS speed) before T17, while my fastest lap in the 40 degrees higher temperature and high humidity, I just reached 150mph.

I, of course have video, here ar 4 laps trying to figure out what's possible and what's not:

Where is that 2:165 video?
Let's hope you get that lap in before it braks again....

The new T17 line is what David Tuaty has been teaching and I think it works.
On RA1 at 150 that's where I end up. Next session I wents waaayyy wide once the tires overheated.

Love the cold weather. Only had 5 laps before traffic and I could not get the most of the car while getting used to the extra speed and grip. I took Bishop so much faster that even with extra grip I could not get through T15 fast and messed up my flyer, still was a 2:177 it would have been a 2:16 easy, nailed every corner, while my 2:17 lap was very conservative.

I agree with all above in this post..I wish you could come to P land, so we can hang out together here..Rad, you and a 4.0 doing 2:13's all day long think about it..

Only 3 seconds from RA1 to slicks on a 2:15'ish lap? I say it should be more like 5-6 seconds, especially if it's Michelin Blues. A 4.0 should do 2:10's or roundabout.

Better get that Fiat fixed and get out there Rad! And maybe some aero to go with it. Or that 4.0. These boys mean business!

I need a ride with someone from DE Cup when I get down there in October. All I need to do is feel it for a session and I'm good.

TBL was a low 14, on these same weather conditions no one of the AeroBeetles has broken under 2:20 on new R6.

I have data, but your VBox thingy won't read it. Eddie's AIM will read it just fine.

@Trackar, your 130mph at Bishop on RA1 is epic.

Picking up the Fiat today after three months of waiting for repairs, and another 5 months it spent at Orbit on upgrades and more repairs. The car will be 4 years old in just 2 months, and the odo reads 12,000 miles.

Seriously thinking on putting it back to stock, sell an inventory of Cayman parts, Fiat parts, leave the Fiat for autoX and fun local trips, and replace Cayman with a dedicated affordable track car, but it needs to be street legal.

My StateFarm car policy renewal came with an amendment, no more track coverage, not even on driving schools, not even autoX.

Sebring has lots of straights where slicks don't bring an advantage, and drag has more influence due to the high speeds.

A few of the guys have tried Pirelli WC and Michelin Blue new slicks, and their lap times have dropped accordingly.

At tracks with more turns, slicks would be a lot faster. At Cal Speedway, I was 5 secs faster on skinny slicks, compared to brand new 265/345 race-spec MPSC in my 07RS.

@Trakcar knows and I know my Fiat has nothing for a 4.0RS, it runs barely runs even with the 3.8RS with my upgrades. The Aerokit would make my Fiat run even with the 4.0RS but I don't feel like going there.

You couldn't have had insurance during the time trials anyways.........

TBL's mean nothing other than showing how inconsistent one is.

One has to learn how to get the most from the slicks to get the most from the slicks. Most guys just slap them on with an alignment and setup for their RA1's. Slicks are 3 or more seconds faster than RA1 at Road Atlanta which is similar with the straights, yet much shorter. Should be at least 1 second per mile.
