and within the limited edition series, we create "aura" for certain models.
then as ppl fight for them, price goes up.
when i bought my 127 for $5 or $6k at msrp, i later sold for $18k and thought i was a genius. well, now clean 127 is $25k. go figure, a watch with $5 movement.

Carrera GT - agree with mooty on VC Overseas. That was going to be my next watch. Classy, elegant, and understates.

Mooty - I laughed out loud when I went to Xintiandi AP in Shanghai Dec 2011. First thing a salesperson comes up to me and says all watches 20% off,... VC prices held up strong and laughed at me for asking about a discount. No wonder VC >> AP in China. When it's luxury priced with advertised discounts, brand image/equity erosion.

Since Carrera GT and mooty mentioned stocks, I am glad I backed down from any FB shares. I can sleep at night with AAPL. FB at $38 was something i was going to wait and see. Sadly, it took all other digital media sticks down with it - ZYNG, GRPN, LNKD, etc. All these articles on failed IPO, I dont get it. FB received great pricing, but why so upset if stock doesn't get the good action after IPO. Hindsight is 20/20 and we'll never know if it priced at $34 or lower, if it would have popped. Good for FB raising more money than the market deems it to be worth. Too bad for greedy peoplelosing money. Who knows in the long run.

As for FB, I think the time to buy was today. I traded it on Friday, but I'm a trader, so I'll be long and short FB all day every day until the options are traded on the 29th, then I'll be using the leverage to reduce risk and still play FB. My only interest here is the love of the game and for 2012 or any time since the likes of GOOG or BIDU came public, there's been no other more interesting issue. For example, I also trade TSLA like crazy and I'm most of the way to their ticker having bought both of my TSLA vehicles for me (give or take taxes) and I've not actually taken delivery of the S or X ... I might just cut bait on Elon Musk and go with Fisker if they've got their car ready to plug in, drop out and go in the commute lane ... psych!
