I think the suspense and mystery is far more entertaining. I called up a friend who I race with who has an 09 Scud - lovely car, black with gold stripes. I informed him that his car was not really broken when it spent several months of 2011 in the garage, and that his car was vastly overpowered compared to a normal one (drag race with my .1gt3 was humbling, considerably more so than a 3.8RS).

He seemed pretty confused. At that point I realized some guy on the internet had hypnotized me into thinking the Scud was the best car in the world. Really impressive.

WOW!
This thread initially was looking for a 4.0 to buy and now there's bench racing all over.
As I read the intensity is amazing. Just way too much for a fragile old man like me. My days of track/racing expressions like ... if you're not living on the edge then you're taking up too much space ... are over for me.

God bless you guys. You're serious and intense. Go wheel to wheel racing and take no prisoners. Go Pro-SCCA or IMSA
Me, the older I got and more kids (expenses & dependence) my braking went from shutdown maker 2 to 3 to 4

Keep driving hard, enjoy reading the experiences.

I'm with you here. I find the only thing I "win" by braking later cornering faster is more adrenaline and more bills.

Izzone,

- fiat is 200 lbs lighter than aero beetle.

- fiat driver is 100 lbs ligther than the fast aero beetle drivers (clarke not included, as he cheats with iphone and hoohoos).

- fiat no drag from supersize carbon wing.

- fiat shifts at full gas in 60ms, aero beetle 400ms, trakcar 1000 ms

- 345 hoohoos allow more traction on turn exit.

- fiat has 4.3 r&p and shorter gears, aero beetles have 3.89 or 3.44 r&p and looong gears.

Even with the same powa, fiat will always reach higher speeds, but i got an extra 30 whp, i didnt have the extra powa a year ago when the cat dyno'ed 397whp at Eddie's dyno.

Those TM graphs are confusing, what are they?

Bishop scares me, wall at t17 scares me, exit of t1 scares me. T11 scares me. Exit of t5 scares me.

Road atlanta not for me, rrr not for me either, i hope the oloa team doesnt include these scary tracks.

I like pbir, cal speedway, daytona, nothing scary.

Scared fiat still faster than self-heroes aero beetles.

Serious.....all the play station analysis and you dont use velocity vs time / distance graph?

Pretty simple.....X axis is time or distance (depending on how you run it) Y axis is velocity

Each low dip corresponds to the speed carried through the corner. As the dip goes up it means you are on the throttle. As your line goes up with a larger spike to mine it means you are out accelerating me. Peak of the top is max speed before braking.

If line goes flat it means you lift (Deputy Dog gets this in the middle of the staright sometimes)

This thread has been fun to watch. I count myself as one of the clowns who has a track worthy car but no skills. Time to dial up some skills.

Rad all kidding aside maybe you need to spend more time in the Coxster and less time in your beloved Fiat. It helped my driving immensely when I got my E36M3 with stock suspension and started tracking it. I became less of a point and shoot driver and started carrying speed through the turns. Felt much more comfortable in the 3 after driving the M.

Who cares if you are faster if you drive like ****.

This.

In all fairness, he doesn't drive like ****. He is pretty decent. But his mouth is waaaaaaaay ahead of his driving...
