One sold at 185k, a little under Msrp.
The rest of the cars also sold at Msrp but were optioned to over $200k.
I'm only interested at Msrp and $200k max. And for $200k I actually want to like the options as well. Over that a much faster gt2rs would be a better buy to me, but I have not driven it yet...
We will see.

Back in 2008, the 997.1 GT3 RS was selling for $75k over sticker, a car almost exact in specs to the 997.1 GT3.
Currently, the 4.0RS is selling for barely $25k-$40k over sticker.
The 2008 RS was special as it was supposed to be the one and only time the RS was making it to America, which turned out to be a lie from PCNA.
The 2011 4.0RS is not the last RS, but it is the last one with only a manual tranny and the Mezger engine, instant classic. Last one with an engine raced for 15 years, that's a long racing history for the 3.6 and 3.8 Mezger engine.
For a Porsche nut and a GT3 blind, the 4.0RS is worth $250k at a minimum. Check prices on 98 Turbo S, 93 C2S, 73 RS and a 4.0RS looks as a bargain.
I'm not GT3 blind, $225k would take me back for a 2nd time, essentially right now to the McLaren dealer 1/2 hour from home.

It will definitely alleviate your 20 car length issue, very quickly.
The GT2 can or will tide you over till the 991 GT3 RS is available in a couple of years. Make sure you drive it with SC off.
In the last months issue of Provinz magazine we did a comparison test(skidpad dry and wet, plus braking) between Trofeo's and Cups on a 997 3.8 GT3 RS. Same car same day same driver. What was astonishing is that the 991 with Street Tires lateral acceleration was higher. 991 GT3 RS will be Outstanding!
I can post the article if there is interest, and a couple of pics.

After reading the multiple posts regarding the 4.0 prices I would go for the power. I would go with a GT2RS.
A simple minded way to look at it is, the GT2RS is a GT3RS with twin turbos.
Also without going into the engine with 68 mm VTG's, intake, intercoolers, exhaust and tune you're easily at or over 700 rwhp

with the 991RS lingering in the not so distant future im not so sure i could spend over 200k for a 997 with a 4.0L today...... as much as i love the 4.0L, i hate to say it but as a current 997.1 owner it is not something i could step up into for the cash involved.....
If the 991 wasnt so damn close i would have a 4.0L...
Now, if the 4.0L indeed turns out to be the next 993RS than i will sell the farm for one for the collection

Is is worth the extra money over a 3.8? No. But I want one anyway, so I am trying.

Down the road, I think that the RS4.0 which will hold the most value will be the ones spec'd to the "purest" form, in keeping with the original '73 RS Light weights all the way to the Cup cars !
Things like funky colors, Radio delete, Thicker wheel, light weight sport seats, etc..... and these particular examples (just as the '73 RS light weights) are few and far between.
History has shown that the loaded examples ie: tons o' carbon, front end lift, "Tucker headlights", Nav, Blutooth, etc.... will NOT be as sought after as the "Pure" examples !
