Sorry to derail the thread. Back to the topic at hand...
You may not trade your CB for an Macca ... its against the rules of CB ownership!

997 361 081 93 New part GT3RS - black, I presume

Seems difficult to screw up the attachment of wheels to vehicle - no?

How many recalls in the history of the automobile do you suppose address "wheels coming loose"?

Porsche - Wow.

What torque setting did you use when tightening your wheels?
The nuts are a different part number. The rest of the parts are the same part number as original.

I never messed with the wheels since delivery... so whatever the factory torqued them to.

I believe this spy video of a heavily disguised 2010 911 "test mule" with centerlocks illustrates the "glitch" in their design.

Either the underground spy video Porsche didn't want seen, or the pound inch wrench was mistaken for the pound foot wrench.

That is a monumental achievement... Surely a contender for "Dumbass of the year 2011" for the best synchronised wheel loss...

Is it the 12,000 mile intermediate? If it is remember to check to see if they have ordered the drop links and ARB bushes that have to be replaced.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but the arbitrary 09/16/10 cutoff date that Porsche has stated for the CL recall is WRONG. My '11 RS is a 10/04/10 build, and has the old-style CL's (with 500NM clearly inscribed on them).

I spoke initially with my servicing dealer, Stevens Creek, and when they ran the VIN, it stated that my car was not included. That being said, they clearly saw that I had the old-style CL's, and suggested that I open a case with Porsche Customer Service. I did that, and they told Stevens Creek to snap a couple pix and email them.

Long story short, PCNA sent my case and VIN to Porsche Germany, and lo and behold, my car is now part of the recall. So those of you near that random 09/16/10 'cutoff' date ought to see if in fact you've got the old ones. Call the 800-PORSCHE number, and you should get hooked up.

Hope that helps someone.

Jeff

Just had the center lock " Service Campaign " done. I have 1200 VERY easy miles ( yeah I know, don't all yell at once ) and they only replaced the center lock nuts. Part # 000-043-301-43. They look just like the old ones without the "500 NM". They also did the one year service.....11 quarts of Mobile 0-40 ? Thought it holds 9.5 with filter ?? Oh well, the level is fine and they kept it inside the shop and did not wash it.
This is a big dealer ( Rusnak Pasadena ) and even my service guy said sometimes stuff " happens " when being jockey'd around the storage lot/carwash etc.....

OK, this is interesting. How many of you have bought a second set of C/L's. I did. Called the dealer and asked if they could be replaced since they were purchased through the dealer network. Part manager's first response was that he didn't think so because the replacement had to be tied to a VIN on a car for warranty replacement.

After I asked him if Porsche was prepared to accept the liability for use of and OEM part sold by a dealer he quickly saw my point and stated that he would have to check, since this is all new.

My thought is that if you buy a Porsche OEM part of any kind that is subject to a recall that you should get a replacement.
