I don't understand what's going on here. Mind you I am in Europe, so maybe stuff in the US is different. And I don't think the dealer would replace this because he decided so himself, since I didn't buy the car there.

Tough to say what the situation is with that…
"the club running the specific event" = Porsche Belgium.

I sent you my VIN btw.

Guys - I'm just concerned about the safety of my friends with center locks. I don't run VIN #s. If there is a "recall" let me know. eos

Bob,
Let me know if you hear of something from the dealer.
thanks

Mine is currently at the dealer which confirmed that THERE IS NO OUTSTANDING TSB w/r/t Centerlocks.

Here's what my service guy from Jim Ellis Porshce sent me yesterday morning. Confirms above statement...

"Lewis,
Hey, hope you got my voicemail. After asking a number of people and searching through all service bulletins and searching my Porsche information website the only Porsche literature I have found on the center locks is the one we already know about, the grease and torque specs. Hope the track was good to you last weekend. When is the next event you will be running at Road Atlanta, I want to see if I can come out and see your “Red Racin Machine” buzzing around the track. I will keep my ears open for any new news regarding the center locks and keep you posted. Let me know when you need your next track inspection.

Thank you,
Steven"

Perhaps they haven't updated it yet.

Bob your move to get it directly from the dealer. : )
hey John any chance you can look into this approved sway bar?

I thought the .2 got the GT2 rear bar ... if not I want to get one plus bushings

Well, well. Look what dropped on the mat this morning:

Replacement central bolts as many sets as you own.

Hope this helps our American buddies

Pete

PS - Just had my 12,000mile service and noticed there was no part number ordered for the Anti-roll bar mounts. Phone the Centre back. "Oops, sorry Sir we forgot!" Worth checking guys (orevent putting a small mark or some such on your old ones as it goes for the intermediate???

Thanks LuckyP

I've over torqued the crap out of mine a few times.
And all other times at least 600Nm.

You could read this as 600Nm would be too much unless greased just so.
Mine have always been greased and checked, replaced with wheel in the air.

The bolts seem the same, except for the text on it as to how heavy to torque them..

There letter is poorly written (and "buries the lead" behind drivel about the race.) It reads "bolt" but appears to mean "nut."

I assume they found the nuts are compromised when torqued to 500 and raced. I'm guessing they're replacing both the nutcase engineer that approved the design and the nut itself, but I wonder if they'll replace those pathetic dust caps.

By anti-roll, I guess you mean anti-sway and this is related to something that broke on your car, not to a recall.

Since there's "significant movement" I assume they have to replace the guide pins, too.
