It's not cheap (also around 900 bucks) but I get to look all manly in paddock with it.

BTW. There is a Transport Canada recall on CL nuts.

1. DAMN! I dig that torque wrench! Manly indeed! woo-hoo!
2. WTF is up with this "recall"? Still nothing said in USA and now I am afraid to track my car given I have had the CL's on/off about a hundred times. Come ON PCNA? What the hell??

this is nuts, but I wonder if in the US there needs to be some formal recall via NTSB or similar?

I agree though this is nuts, we now have evidence that GB and CA have issued a recall and yet nothing from PCNA?

It might be time to e-mail Mr AP @ PAG!

Apparently they need to inspect:
-wheelhub
-brake disk
-guiding pins
-wheel

and replace any of those parts if damaged...

Does anyone know why they didn't just install the Carrera GT centerlock system on the car instead of reinventing "the wheel"?

wow ... I presume they are looking for potential damage from a wheel becoming lose on the hub ...

Perfect I will tell them the centerlocks have caused my brake rotors to crack at the holes and need new ones

I will be at the track all weekend with the old outdated centerlocks

Those were my thoughts as well, but if you'd like to convert yours over its "only" $5300 in parts + install. But even if they/you used the CGT CL system, the mating surfaces of the CGT CLs are different than that of a .2 GT3/RS wheels (almost positive on this). From what I understand, the CGT CL's are the same as current RSR CLs.

My understanding also.

Let's face it. Those of us with an ounce of nouce, will keep our wheels to the right torque (not sure about these who had to communicate with Porcshe AG via telepathy with regard to the 'only track your car if the 600Nm torque is observed') I'd only be worried if Porsche hadn't contacted us about the 5 to 600Nm workshop bulletin...............oh.........hold on!!!

Actually. This subject is racking me right off.

Porsche - you are reading this. What is your global plan?

You can rescue or sink much future business with your response.

Porsche doesn't care! I really do think they've lost it and just don't care. I wish they would stand up and say something and take care of you guys

Yesterday I was at the dealer to change my left rear tire with new one since I changed the right one so to balance the car, we were chatting about the CL and he said Porsche sent him all VINs list of GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo, GTS , GT2 RS list that they have defective CL and delivered by him, some cars already have the new CL and they are out of the list.

So now if you need to blame I think you need to blame dealers, they are so lazy not to talk to their customers and they may do that to not have lot of calls or lot of customers waiting. But I think once they receive the new CL they will start calling you guys so it is a matter of time.

Go to any Porsche Dealer and just enter your VIN number and it will show if your car has the defective CL or not. This is a global recall not specific to some regions.

Simply not correct for USA. Dealers have no information (yet). That is a fact as of Friday. A fair guess they are currently building inventory of replacement parts before the make any possible US announcement.

FYI got the car back and they replaced (under warranty)

- 4 center lock bolts
- 1 rear wheel hub
- 2 rear brake disks ( presume they only needed to replace one but since you cannot have used disk on one side and new on the other they replaced the one on the other side too)
- 1 rear wheel.

Let me echo the sentiment of others by asking .. whaaat?!

Did they explain what the FFFFUUCCCKKKK was wrong with the brake rotors?

By "lock bolts" I presume Porsche means the wheel nuts.

I guesstimate the ticket for this recall was approaching US$20K. No wonder they're in no rush to put a couple of hundred cars at that kind of line item all in the one quarter and go bang on the P+L.
