That is correct Larry. I went armed with the good info from here but they told me my car is fine. I might give Andreas a call.

LuckyP's letter from PCGB indicated that the CLs should be changed regardless (did it not?) ... so I would expect yours to be changed also ... I'm surprised that they called you in but did not change them .... I don't see the point?

Indeed, in UK the centre locks themselves are to be changed regardless of their condition, and they are to check the rim, the brake disc and the wheel hub for extra wear and replace if needed.

I received a letter a week or so ago regarding the centrelocks. The manual supplement came with it. They are replacing all centrelocks. As per the previous poster's letter, it asked for any additional centrelocks to be brought in to be replaced. I think its pretty clear that this will be the case everywhere- I'd say it is being rolled out randomly into various markets as stock becomes available...

I'd say that the dealers in the US are being kept in the dark for logistical reasons until stock is available for them to roll out the changes. The markets that have received letters are those where maybe 70-150ish cars have sold in total like Aus, UAE, GB... The US probably require 1000-1500 sets which will take longer to get together. Not to mention the fact that they may want to spread the pain financially over a couple of financial years. News travels faster on the net... I'm sure you'll all receive notification soon enough...

They need to get a bulletin out in the US quick

I think the centerlocks have caused my front rotors to get massive cracks in them.....

I will write Porsche a letter

Well......if first one of your coolant hoses doesn't get you now one of your damn CL's will!

20+ track events on a 2010 GT3 with a build date of 09/10/09 and almost every event required a wheel change from street to track tire and not one problem yet........knock on wood.

Gentlemen, I'm going to just stand down for now until all the dust settles on this side of the pond.

Take consolation in the fact that when it comes to life and safety issues corporate lawyers usually have the last say on matters particularly if there is a hint of class action lingering in the air. I think they'll change out whatever is necessary once they figure out what is happening.

Thank goodness we have Rennlist.

The German automaker said that it is aware that some 911 owners "occasionally operate them on a racetrack or under similar conditions."

I don't have CL or a GT3 (yet) but I came across this from PCA e-Mag yesterday. It may be old news to folks here but thought I'd post the actual language from US safecar.gov site on the CL recall from last June which may be helpful to some of the impacted owners who have yet to contact a dealer.

So they give you same hollow hub with same CL nut? Or is it a different design? frankly they should just change to a solid hub like the Cup cars. I know those parts are not interchangable but I am paranoid as hell. In fact only reason why I have not gotten a track dedicated wheels.

NHTSA 11V285000 and Porsche AB01 are the same numbers that came up mid 2011. It's a mandatory recall to inspect and replace, but from what you've posted, it's nothing new.
