Im sure the "Porsche specialist" Is mixed up between the MK1 RS and the MK2

The 2008 GT3 that 996toomey was talking about is the 1st gen GT3 with the Narrow body and comes with 305 tires stock for the rear axle while the Gen 2 RS 325

Good luck
Hi - 996toomey car is gen 1 GT3 correct, but his note was about a GT3rs Gen 2 concerning the 325 rubbing so they then fitted a 305.

Yes correct my car is a 2008 GT3 with rear tire size 305 which is what I was there to get.

A few days before a customer was in with a 997.2 GT3RS to get the Trofeo tires also. They had the 325 rears for that customer and when they put the 325Trofeo rears on the 997.2 GT3RS they rubbed so they removed the 325s and put the 305s on. The 305s they put on were the ones they were holding for me but thought they had 2 sets there.

My point is they had the same issue with the 325 Trofeo rubbing on the 997.2 GT3 RS.

Thats really strange , i wonder what the diffrence is in the rear axle??
Could this be because of the double control arm in the rear that is not present int he 7GT2??

Go fast

I had them on my car, also during rain and they were just great. As a Semi-slick they are better in rain then a Michelin Cup.

Does someone has any update about Trofeo perfomance against R888?
I've just fitted Trofeo on my 2.RS after I finished Michelin factory tyres. That Trofeo are faster than Michelin is known, I'd like to know in comparison with Toyo...

True, they stick like crazy BUT !! the don't last long ! In fact after 2 trackdays it's over. In Europe this tire is +500 euro more expensive then Michelin cups......

Seen the cost of this tire and the way he burns rubber, I will go to cups.......after two sets of Trofeo in 1.5 months on 4 Trackdays.

Als the rubber between the rain "lines" is wearing fast as this "moves" to much.

Lemme get this straight... these things are sticky like semi-slicks judging from laptimes, but last only two days on the track. Aren't they basically the equivalent of Hoosiers with rain grooves? One pays extra (loads extra) for the optionality of "some" wet handling and the ability to drive on highway.

I suspect I'll get better versatility and bang-for-the-buck out of a set of MPSC (to get to the track) and dedicated track slicks (which are cheap) over the course of a season...

Good luck picking up a set of Trofeo's here in the US. I had a set on order with Bob Woodman quite a while ago and they weren't able to deliver. Apparently, a distributor in the US can place an order with Pirelli and then Pirelli ships something that is a close approximation to that order - in my case, that meant no 305/30/19's. I can tell you that the Woodman folks (and I) were really frustrated once they saw what they had received off the boat.

Have others in the US experienced this?

I ran a set last summer and really liked them in wet and dry. I ran them on 19" GMG wheels (9 and 12") and had no issues with fit with 305's and 235's. I've tried several times to get another set this year with no luck. I've called Woodman four times and talked to Bob at the track once with much the response that everyone has described...don't know when or if they'll be in, we'll call you.

I will say that I didn't have the wear issues that others have described. For me they seemed to wear about the same as the Sport Cups, were much better in the wet and quieter on the street. I may not be pushing them as hard as others, though I got them from GMG after James Sofronas had put ten laps on them and they looked almost new.

Hi.
If Anyone is interested, I have a set of Pirelli P Zero Trafeo in 265/35/19 285/35/19 I'm willing to sell.
They were used for 131.7 miles but They rub on my M3 . I will need to run an aggresive negative camber, otherwise I will damage my fender liner :/
You may email me at EuroTekLA at yahoo.com. Thank you.
