I have the Trofeo on mine from last week on. This weekend first time on (wet) track.

On road trips, they were just good in rainy conditions. Much more grip then my Corsa's before, as a first impression......

Gents - I have been told that the 305/30 19" is better sized tyre for gen 2 GT3RS - can you confirm as I am just about to order a set from UK to be shipped to me.

the RS rear wheel is same size as GT3. I have been told the 325 pirelli rear rubs against arch - this by reputable UK porsche specialist

any gen RS owners confirm please? Thanks

Tire Rack lists only one size as OEM; the 325's - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Select...1&autoModClar=

No The 2nd Generation RS wheel is the same width as the Gt2 and Gt2 RS and runs 325's in the rear from the factory...

Are the 18 tires proper height ratio for 997.1

Will 295 work on 12 inch rear tire?

Spoken to my man and he assures me 305 is perfect and has been run on track, so going with it - watch this space.

your man will not know more than Porsche factory, which recommends 325 as OEM size.

http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/mo...ro_trofeo.html

Pirelli web site - 305 - GT3 RS

Also - width of 305 in mm is not far off Michelin pilot sport cup 325 I am currently running.

Really not trying to be argumentative, but, check out this link (from the Porsche UK website) and click on the "Wheels + TPM" tab. It clearly states that the wheel for the GT3 is a 305 rear and a 325 Rear for the RS. http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/911...l/?gtabindex=3

Good luck with your experiment!

I had an appointment to have the Trofeos installed on my 2008 GT3 about 2 weeks ago. There was a mix up and I did not end up getting them. I have dealt with this outfit for many years and they are one of the best IMO.

I asked the owner what happened this is not like you and he told me another customer was in a few days before me with a 997.2 GT3RS. They put the 325 Trofeos on and they rubbed so they put 305s on (mine). He thought he had another set or would not have used my 305s. He said the Trofeo is bigger in 325 than many other brands and rubbing was an issue.

Thank you - this is exactly what Fearnsport in UK said about there customer also and hence their STRONG advice to fit 305. They said when they put the 305 against the 325 michelin it was just as wide. Happy days indeedy and thanks for posting - I will now have my tyres shipped to me

Given that th MK2 RS comes with a wide body which is the same width as the GT2 I have run 4 sets of 325 trofeos for my GT2 and they do not rub.

Im sure the "Porsche specialist" Is mixed up between the MK1 RS and the MK2

The 2008 GT3 that 996toomey was talking about is the 1st gen GT3 with the Narrow body and comes with 305 tires stock for the rear axle while the Gen 2 RS 325

Good luck
