@Metaphysician its funny you posted that pic. I sent that to my buddy yesterday and told him I thought it was the best "profile shot" of a 911 I have ever seen. Just a wicked spec. And yes, that thing was for sale for a long time at Porsche Beaverton and had some stories. Type 5 overrevs too as I recall. I think it sold in the 260's (which was still a deal!). But now it seems after only a short while the new owner has apparently tired of it (either that or it is the car that is tired, or he is simply a flipper looking to make some money...although nothing wrong with that!).
I personally don't put too much credence into the overrev hysteria. If the car is driving good, has good compression, and has full power, its not likely a prior overrev event has done any damage. IMHO. Every 996/997 I have owned had a healthy number and did just fine! (especially the turbo I owned...it was tuned and I could log overrevs simply bumping up against the limit in low gears).
Wow for starters looks like it has some sort of sequential shifter. It will be a very specific buyer looking to pick up something like this one
That’s just a CAE shifter (not sequential, to be clear). Beloved by many but is certainly not a stock look. Also easily reversible, as any shifter / cables are.

That's not sequential, it's a CAE shifter on a stock transmission. I have one in my 997RS. It puts the **** right next to the steering wheel, has a very short throw, and is very precise.
best part of gt2 is the 3.6. you could turn up the boost wo touching motor.
3.8 conversion gonna be tough sale for most
steering wheel doesnt look like 997 version
Aqua Blue GT2 up for auction in Europe. Can’t be imported to the US, but can be to Canada. Only one of these was brought to North America, so probably not a lot of RoW cars.
Newly listed 2008 GT2 in Texas on Montana title being auctioned on BaT by Louisiana dealer. Things aren't simple with these cars anymore these days, are they?

I don’t get why a 993 Turbo with 9k miles currently has a higher bid than this <4k miles GT2, both with about 2 days left on BaT.
The action happens in the last hour. It also doesn't have buckets, which I've noticed does impact pricing considerably. Also Seller's presentation is maybe a 7 out of 10. Info like paint readings is missing. Presentation makes or breaks the BaT auctions.
