997 GT2 Market

Loopholes do exist though, I have friends who have exploited them. Creative thought can sometimes pay off, and once you have the US title it starts to matter a lot less if it's 'fed' legal versus state legal too, particularly on cars that are already US legal and comparable (like 997.1 GT2). We're not talking about Nissan Skyline GTRs here, so you'll blend right in and the parts are all available already too.

I’ve heard a few people got titles for RoW 997.1 GT3 RS Clubsport’s that they weren’t supposed to have gotten. These cars weren’t federalized or imported properly. Because of the mistake by the government they are allowed to stay with that owner however if the cars are sold they must go out of the country. If sold to a domestic buyer they can be seized and destroyed.

there was a story I remember years ago someone somehow brought in a number of non-Federalized Lotus Elises pre 2005 and got them registered in one of the smaller more lenient states, then sold them off to various customers around the country who were very happy until a number of months or maybe even years later when the Feds showed up and literally confiscated / impounded each of these cars from the various owners.

As others have said, it's cost prohibitive to import into the US. It can probably be federalized, but the delta in savings might be eaten up.

Interesting that the build sheet shows both 346-Wheels Painted Silver and CRU-Wheels Painted Black. Not sure I've seen conflicting wheel paint options on a car before.

Know the Meteor Grey car and owner. No expense spared build. Great car for a person who's looking for a brutal fast, sorted GT2.

I don't have any previous notes on the 2009 white car. Looks pretty clean and a nice build! Can't say I've seen the deviated stitching on carbon air vents before. Some nice pictures in the listing too.
