Default The question is: Keep my '07 GT3 or go for the '10 GT3?

I love my '07 and have racked up 30K + miles as a DD and it is a leased car. I own my '07 RS and plan on keeping that one in the stable.

Both cars are set up just the way I like them with full track goodies (the RS more so)

The '07 lease is up in May. I know that there are several '10's languishing on lots around the country and could probably get one as a new DD.

So, do I buy the '07 that I love to drive every day or turn it in for the '10? (if I can find one spec'ed to my liking?)

What do you gentlemen say who have moved on from the 997.1 to the 997.2; were the improvements worth the change or do any of you feel that you could have been just as happy with keeping your 997.1's?

Since you already have a 997.1 RS, why not swap the leased 997.1 for a new 997.2. I think you will really enjoy it. I'm sure you will be happy either way....

I'm pretty much considering the same question; I own (most) of my '07 with 5k miles on it and am thinking about leasing a new '10.

You are correct, I believe at last count there are some 50-70 cars sitting on dealer lots around the country with various specifications ... most of them are
white/black/silver or met grey with a couple of exceptions. A motviated dealer
can search the available inventory and should be able to swap/obtain a car
from another dealer remotely.

I am really torn, I specced my car as I wanted it, so it's "perfect", none of the cars I have seen on lots are completely close enough to what I want ... but I
recognise that:

1) my car will only continue to depreciate
2) I still owe on it ...
3) the '10 is an incrementally better car ...
4) I dont think they are going to do another production run this year
5) it could be a long time before there is another GT3 ...

I'm still on the fence ... sigh .... help!

I went through a different process, but close to the same.

Debated between a nice pre-owned 2007 and a new 2010. Drove both for a decent amount of time. I could not tell a huge difference.......but I am no track champion.

Larry...I cannot believe you would consider selling your car. If it was on the market when I was looking it would be in my garage. If you do sell it (a mistake in my mind).....sell me your seats

if I make such a mistake ... and the lucky owner doesn't want the GT2 seats ... you have 1st refusal on the GT2 seats ... they are so new I haven't even driven the car with them in or popped over to the dealer to reset the airbag warning after removing the GT3 6 seats and pluging in the new ones!

On the other hand, since you own both a white 3 and an orange rs...

Im selling my white 3 to buy an orange rs for no other reason than im crazy about that color and the extra 44mm. Am I crazy?

Key words there are "if I can find one spec'd to my liking". The last 2010 car I would have considered has been sold; if you are at all picky, your dilemma may be a non-issue.

Everything I see points to a 2011 GT3. 2010 allocations are done for other models as well, and it isn't because they aren't going to offer 2011s. And it doesn't make sense that they would facelift the car for one model year. Besides, the 996GT3 overlapped the 2005 model year with the introduction of the 997...so there may even be a 2012 GT3.

I am not hearing any rumblings of an MY'11 production run of the GT3 from my dealer with whom I have had a deposit for some time for just such an opportunity.

While I acknowledge that both the 6.2 and 7.1 had multiple runs, I dont think the demand exists for another run this CY ... if there was I would be holding out for that and ED

If I was to buy new.....that car at pioneer is perfect....even more than a 997.1 RS

Larry.....it cannot be $50k better than your car....the new car smell wears off
