Any chance that someone at the casino had it in for you? Were you winning? Any possibility your key was taken from you temporarily?

I think the reason the cops are being the way they are is because people are torching cars left and right to get out of the loan. It's been in the papers. And I think the cops are taking the easy road and starting with the most likely person. They are looking at how hard it is to steal and the frequency of owners torching.

Yes it sucks but that's what is going on.

I wouldn't talk to them anymore without representation. They're not telling you everything because they are looking for a hole in your story.
They don't know you so you shouldn't take it personal. (Hard to do I know)

Sorry about the Cancer too.

Was the fire dept called? how long did it sit before being torched? How long did it sit after being torched before the police found it (sounds like they found it only because it was reported stolen?).

How many hotel, traffic and police cameras are there between the spot and the place you last saw it? Have they inspected the recordings on each one? Not just what they recorded after it was stolen, but before (following you into the garage?).

Man, there are too many pre-conceived conclusions in this story, and not enough facts. You need an attorney to bring some balance to dialogue with the police.
Well said.

I saw pix of the car with the firemen hosing the car down. They would not let me keep those photos.

They said that they had the contact details of the witness who saw someone pop out, ignite the car and then get into a get away car.

I just got the address of where this torching happened and after I get off the phone with my insurance company I am going to head over there and see what I can find....

They wont let me see my car which is utter bull****

I'm sure they consider it a crime scene and can't have a potential suspect (in their eyes) poking around it.

All the police have to do would be to investigate Cripsen's finances and see he's solvent. Then their
theory goes out the window. They could also judge his enthusiasm from his four years of RL involvement.
I have talked to him privately about his track events. Makes no sense to me.
Jesus Cops are uneducated people with guns. A flaw in our system.

I'm sorry for your loss. This is one of the worse stories that I have read on RL.

Sorry about your car.

Just saw the movie, "Hangover", last night with buddies. Very funny. Your car story could have been in the movie's plot.

Not sure what that means...
When you get a new key, they start off with a coded blank that they cut and then program to the car. Therefore, the car learns the new transponder code using a scan tool... Your key is not required for the purpose of reprogramming (except for the cut on the metal to work the mechanical lock aspect-assuming there is).

Now, I don't know how relevent this is to Porsche but one way in which professional thieves have gotten around this with many high-end cars is to have a key and comp module from another car with them, they break into yours, plug in their module, use a scan tool to encode it to the rest of the module network in the car and presto, you have a car.... Scan tools are easy to pick up if your willing to pay the price (or borrow from your employer for the weekend)

If that car was driven out of the casino, regretfully the clown who took it was a pro... Makes no sense as to why it wasn't stripped though... Pros torch stripped cars... Joyriders don't steal these as they don't have the means...

Dead serious, if you are still in vegas, you might want to go check it out!

And i'm still shocked at this! If I could help in anyway I gladly will just let me know! This is a perfect case for fmylife.com!

There is a thread on one of the M3 boards about a M3 that was stolen from a parking deck in Las Vegas in this manner.

in 1990 my wife and I drove from California to San Antonio. I was born and raised in Dallas, havent lived in Texas since 1977 and still consider myself a Texan. We got there for a family reunion. The next morning the whole parking lot at the hotel had Texas cars but me. I had four sliced tires and bent wiper blades and the antenna was gone. The A$$HOLE cop shows up and asks me who I pissed off!!!!. I told him I was HAPPY to be here. Still hassled me. I told him I was here for a family reunion. He asked me who in my FAMILY i pissed off. I said "Look Einstein, what differentiates my car from every OTHER car? My PLATES" He said "thats no reason!' I finally took out my Federal ID and told him I was a Federal officer. (I was just a federal scientist) but the ID has a Federal Naval symbol and he asked if I worked for the Naval Investigative Service . I told him "yes I work for the Navy"( and I investigate things) which wasnt a lie but then his whole mood changed and he started calling me sir. I didnt tell him its the Naval CRIMINAL Investigative Service. NOT the NIS.
A detective showed up then and I didnt have to deal with Einstein anymore. They took my report and took me seriously.

I support my police officers but sometimes the HS graduate requirement for law officers could be alittle higher.

To me that means, if one was to gain access inside the car, install there own PAS control unit with keys, re-program the DME to exept the new Immobilzer code, all without setting off alarm and any winesses. I dont think so. The PAS control unit is burried in the dash alone. The only logical scenarios to me.
A. Car was put on flat bed, the retards attempted to figure it out, got pissed/scared and burned it.
B. Somehow, someway another key besides the two in your possession was produced and used to simply drive off with the car. But this would have to be a inside job (reason for detective being a *** wipe) or someone within a dealer that your car had visited in the past, programing a key without your knowledge.

Did you ever use the other key (the one at home in L.A.) in the recent past? I ask because when you program a new key, ALL keys must be present to be programed, or they will be useless.

This is FUBAR to the very definition. Hope it all works out. Oh and FYI the 2010 GT3 is the Cats MEOW!!! Just got one in yesterday, awesome!!!
