RS is a nice machine but leaving it in a garage and occasional weekend drives or grocery/kidgetter- that's for the birds. God why can't they just legaliaze a stripped out version of the gt3- all I need is 2 race seats/rollbar and everything else taken off ie ac/radio etc. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Mike

Yea but that's the first time it's ever happened and even then is was only by 3/10's of a second in the last session. The top 2 Spec Boxes both beat you in the first 3 sessions.

Garrett is a talented driver with great focus. The top 3 Spec Boxes beat up all the RS's consistently on short or long tracks. 201 HP, 2650lbs. w/driver is hard to beat....

Trailer it- ughh!! been there before. I have two big garages in San francisco rent-free and hated everytime getting my car on/off. Unless u are full on racing and nothing else why trailer. Mike

I'm sorry but no bsr can beat up ne equally capable driver in ne GT3. I dont want a grudge match but it aint going to happen. It's even worse if bsr do an enduro race say minimum 3 hrs. Mike

I was laughing at the fact that he hasnt even raced his BSR and already wants a Cup car. His slippery slope has just become a bottomless cliff.

I agree that the BSR is an awesome racetrack, and with more power even better. I drove a friend's 3.4 "BSR" and it is the most fun track car I've driven. Much better and faster than my Lotus Exige S.

So most of you are saying the 2500lbs 200bhp BSR is as fast as a GT3, then in theory the Lotus Exige S or Cup Car should be even faster than this? Then why (including my own experience) is the Lotus faster than a GT3 around any track?

you're absolutely right mike but let's face it we'll be in BSR next yr. the racing sounds like too much fun even if they are getting smoked on the straights by our beasts

It depends on the track. At the high speed tracks like Cal Speedway or Laguna you're correct. But on the more technical tracks like Laguna or Buttownwillow the BSR's are quicker. Back in Dec. 05' Kevin Reynold (cup car driver) set a track record of 1:31:788 at WSIR in his street 996 GT3. No other 996 or 997 GT3 has matched that lap since. Last Dec. I turned a 1:31:731 in my Spec Box during qualifying.

if you try your VERY HARDEST to keep my BSR on the pavement, you know, the part that's NOT dirty..... you can drive it. i think you will not be keeping your ugly GT3 much longer.

plus your car is so quiet. i must be at 100db +

really. good to hear, as i was about to buy a 240S to do my own comparison. but you have a lot more seat time in lotus than i do. what you said was very helpful.

carlos, i can't follow what you are saying. but i know that S240 would be faster than a 996gt3 at infineon. the essese, the carousel and the u turn at seven really helps the lotus.

i raced it at ARC the first day i got the car. acclimation to any car is over-rated. just get in and drive it. was racing NASA on the third day i had the car, but it was pouring and i have water about 1" inside cabin so i didn't.

and i do have ADD.
