O goodness you've lost it! Man all this BSR talk I might have to trade in my GT3 for a Boxster.
John, are there two seats? I want a ride. Don't worry I wont weigh you down too much. LOL

Seems like a lot of work for nothing, if you ask me, guy.
All you need is a bit of nose surgery, a white glove, and you're good to go, er, ready to start making moves, broheim.
It's a moonwalk kind of a thing. And yes, I know, it's a thriller.

Don't laugh ... new 320hp Boxster is an awesome street car! I often drove the 3 back to back with my 06 987S - great car. With 380 HP the Boxster would kick *** - I hear Alois Ruf calling!

You know Mooty (and the rest), you are of no help.
Am I to understand that I should (could) just go get a used 2.5 Bxster and do equally as well at my DEs?? If my wife sees this thread, there goes the GT3...
So please help a fellow Rlister out and keep it down until she is safely in the garage

they FINALLY had to justify why the coupe cost more than cab (the hp difference is not much, maybe 10hp, academic really).
well, i did say do not comment on this thread, LOL. i dont have offers. so i will keep it. instead of putting a X51 in an older box. perhaps strip out a new DFI cay s?? much eaiser to do. takes a week to build with cage. motor swap would take 2 months (inc strip and cage)...

if you want fun, the BSR is a LOT more fun than any of my GT3 on track. but it isn't a fair comparison. the BSR has no int, no ac, no radio, no nothing. it's light. if you did that to a GT3, it will be more fun than box. but not many ppl are willing to guy a gt3.

The RS is one of the best track/street cars ever made. If you want to drive to the track and kick *** on the BSR's then drive home I can't think of a better car.
A few weeks ago I drove my RS (stock except for Toyos) to Willow Streets for a POC STS event with my girlfriend and I beat every BSR there. We drove home, stopped for a Starbuck's and had a great day. The following day I drove the RS to work.
Yes, the BSR is a great budget race car but you cannot compare it to a great street/track car. I would compare a BSR to a Lotus and I like the Lotus better.
Mooty, if you are going to trailer and your budget can afford it I would suggest getting a Cup, however the experience will be similar with the BSR. The Cup will be faster and cost more to maintain but the BSR will give you the same enjoyment for less money. The question comes down to budget. Talk to John Gordon, he went from a 996 Cup to a BSR and I believe that he is very happy, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in a Cup in the future.

Garrett, you're a very talented driver. By the way, I have a video with you lapping my GT3 in your Race car 2-3 times in one track session. I enjoyed seeing your car drag racing a factory 2008 GT3 RSR and gaining on him, SICK. Your car is a monster.
By the way, at Streets of Willow the fastest GT3 RS on DOT-R tires (yours) ran a 1:25.xx, the fastest BSR on Toyo R888 ran 1:25xx. I won't say you can easily kick butt on a BSR with a GT3 RS.
I have been driving a GT3 for 5 years so far, so I know my car. Marc drove my GT3 for two sessions yesterday and he is a good driver, no matter what he tried, he could not get away from me driving the BSR. I could pass him on the inside of 9, but he will pass me on the main straight, lap times about the same.
I agree that off the showroom, the 997 GT3 RS, 997 GT2 and 997 GT3 are the most capable Porsche track cars, but a BSR running similar lap times to the 997 GT3 and GT3 RS, and most likely beating a stock 996 GT3 (because it has proven slower than the 997 GT3 RS) is a revelation.
My BSR is way under 2,500 lbs, it actually runs a 50 lbs battery, a 25 lbs ballast, and 1/8 of a fuel tank to be at the 2,700 lbs minimum weight with a 200 lbs driver required for 2008. For 2009 the minimum weight is 2,650 lbs, so my 175 lbs body will require more fuel to make minimum weight.

Seriously, tho, I hear you. Any 'dedicated' car is going to out perform any 'multi-tasker' and the GT3 is the later.
Anyhoo, thats how I am up-selling the wife...
