Yes, but now we know why Mooty is at the track so often! It is the only place that his lead foot can breathe!

Mooty - you are, what they call, an adrenaline junkie!

Good luck OG. Lots of good advice here...

OK, so the kid was 17, a juvenile, at the time of the violation. Did he have juvenile passengers in the car too? That would be another violation of his DL provisions?
Also, I can assure you an officer is NOT required to show you the radar/lidar display. Often, an officer will show a violator the display just to prove his point, however.

Will an X5 easily get to over 100 mph in a quick shot to pass a car on the way "up" to Mammoth?? Just a simple thought...

Yea its faster than a cayenne S but its got a long pedal so you have to want to zip it.
but once it goes yes it gets up and goes.
The irony is I let him use it for safety reasons. His truck a 96 dodge is not what I want
my family doing long trips in.

No disrespect intended, but wouldn't it be nice if we all had a rich daddy to come to our rescue when we made a boo-boo.

Is your boy going to pay for that lawyer?
Is he going to pay for that ticket?

Life it tough and it's best learned when we pay our own way and pay for our own **** ups.

Yeah...and my little baby girl was a perfect angel when she bought her new Jetta at age 17. Until she told me 10-years later how she had it pegged at 120 on I205 one night.

My guess is your boy was doing what porky says he did. I did it when I was 18 and I still do. 20-years of MX never stopped me from speeding when I had the op.

my $0.02

No offense taken DRH. He is going to work for the first 6 months to pay for the lawyer. The reason he went to Mammoth for a Job interview. He got the job. I am taking the 50% of his paychecks till the lawyer
and the ticket is paid for. I am not paying a cent. I have some FIKSE to get.
If he doesnt or fails in anyway with his job, his payment, his schooling.... I am walking him straight to the Marine recruiter. And I am DEAD serious about it. He is going to pay one way or the other.

and I aint no rich dad VERY middle class and I have earned everything I have.

Paul,

I did not read all the replies to the post, but a friend and I were talking about it yesterday with all the electronics in the car is there anything internally that logs speed in the BMW. Such as max speed etc.?

You read my post I was lucky, but still pissed cause I know for a fact I was not speeding with the cop on my tail, followed me actually over 3 miles and I highly doubt there radar stored an over limit. Don't get me wrong I have had my share of tickets and will be the first to admit it. So I know the feeling.

But it sounds like that is a serious accusation/penalty, get a good lawyer to fight it hopefully there is some technicality there. In NJ the State has designed two get out of jail free cards. Essentially you plead to "unsafe" driving pay a couple hundred bucks and no points, can't use more than two in 5 years. Maybe CA has something similar, in Fla there are DMV laywers on every block advertising money back guarantees. Might be a little costly but save your DL. Good Luck

You know He DID have my magellan, but I dont think it logged data. It was navigation a route but not logging speed. I wish there was a way I could get that data!
