I also prefer the regular GT3, simply because it narrower.

I would go for a GT3 with no options, except the bucket seats ($$$) and the CS package (free if you buy the bucket seats).

I agree...but the good race driver (like Craig Stanton) would be awake. We've already gotten the verdict.

The 44mm wider body and longer wheelbase is useless (no faster lap time). On street bigger and wider body is no good at all (just for the look if you like that).

The GT3 with all those nice options is the BEST for both street and track.

I love the GT3......but....at MSRP to MSRP, the RS is fantastico and an easy choice, especially in Orange.

They are both nice cars. I would get the RS if I could get one at MSRP. I can only get the regular GT3 at MSRP. Why would I get the RS? Widebody, cool stickers, cool wing, and that awesome base paint of either black on orange or orange or black. That is plenty to justify the 16K price difference. Plus it is more rare. However, I guarantee you that from a performance aspect, I could not tell the difference. I consider myself very lucky just to have a GT3 allocation and the means to afford one.

The GT3 is a great car and you'll enjoy it. Performance is, and should be, virtually identical, especially in the hands of us mere mortals.

Now the Lotus...that's a really FUN track car compared to the bloated, bus-like, PASM'ed GT3/RS.

You're special and different....don't get me started.

You still need to lose a 1000 pounds, though.

Here is a fair question: what is the hp/weight ratio for a 997GT3 versus a Lotus Exige Cup? That might be telling....

ah... what's the point to study real world results?
my paychk doesn't depend on my winning lemans, daytona, sebring etc.
i read mags only on the toilet b/c i can't afford tissue paper. i use the mag...

GT3 may or may not be faster than xxx.
i am faster in my lotus than my GT3.
maybe i am just a ****ty driver who can't afford to ball up a 130k car.
the so called "real world" data would say GT3 is faster than eixge, but not when i am driving. so why should i care about real world results? i care about MY results. if it gets my heart pumping, then that's good enough.
